Thread: This is a WARNING about so called FREE seedboxes

Few days ago there was an article about 600 free seedboxes from one mystical hosting company. There even was a whole article on FILEnetworks.

So beware those who think that they ar free :001_smile: In fact they ain't.
As I said before, nothing is for free in this world :001_smile:

I have quoted some info from announcement on some tracker.

Dear members,

This is an important security announcement that might directly affect you, so please take a moment to read it.

It had recently come to our attention that a certain, new service is supposedly offering free seedboxes to pretty much anyone. In the application process for the boxes, people are asked details regarding their existing private tracker accounts, paypal screenshots, email addresses and the like.



The information we have received suggests that the people behind this so called free seedboxes service are in fact engaged in fraud, credit card and paypal account theft, hijacking of tracker accounts and passkeys etc., and are using the information provided to them, as well as the torrents which you pass through their service to do so.

Please note that we as staff are not in any position to verify this information, but as it came from sources which we deem reliable, we personally believe it to be true and are thus obliged to pass it on to you in order for you to be aware of it and take the necessary precautions.

With that being said, we advise all our members to stay away from this, or any other similar service in the future. If you have already registered to it, we recommend that you stop using it at once, and in any case refrain from using it with iTS torrents - if you lose your account because of failing to adhere to this advice, we will not be able to assist you; please consider this as your pre-warning.

And last but not least, always remember this simple rule of life: "if it seems too good to be true, it probably is".

Yeah, this is not really news. Some people just do not want to believe the more experienced members here so their lost if they ran to them. The staff here made an attempt to not advertise this because they did not believe it was a legit offer. I looked at the site for a few mins, thought it to be suspicious and left. If something is suspicious and it's free, be even more suspicious. Most stuff that appears to good to be true usually is. That is just my experience from living on this Earth for a good while now. Seems the writer of that article believes the same.

yes this is utter crap. I've been jacked $200 once cuz the guy offering me a seedbox for an entire year ran off with my money and box after a month. I was pretty disappointed and gave up hope on torrents, but there are good people out there..so just be smart and if it's too good to be true then it probably is!

well i joined it, and it seems great. seedbox is working and everything is alright.

This is the exact kind of announcement I expected here considering T-I staff had first hand knowledge of the nefarious dealings of this so called seedbox company.

One of the many reasons why iTS staff are among the best in BT, always looking out for their members.

Bitme and Bmtv also issued a similar announcement. If anyone's passkey is compromised they will disable the account and you wont get it back.
If you haved used them, i suggest you reset your passkeys asap as well as login password just in case.
