Thread: Ilovetorrents.com sucks :(

I was a recent member of Ilovetorrents.com and I noticed that every popular torrent I downloaded I was only able to upload about half of what I downloaded (and I have a good upload speed up to 500kb per sec). After this happened 3 times in a row my ratio fell to about .30. I started looking for popular torrents offered by the site on other free torrent sites to upload to fix my rating. I found one and seeded it like crazy bring my ratio up to 3.0. Soon after fixing my ratio (it took a while). I contacted the the help desk and notified them that my ratio was repaired and requested the restriction on my account be lifted (still had huge wait times to download). I was later notified that the restriction would be lifted within 2 weeks of my ratio being fixed. A day or so later I was banned from the site (I got the following message).

403 Forbidden

From what I read this could be a ban however I wasn't sure. I logged in from my netbook from a friends house (different IP) and tried to log into my account and it was disabled (at this point I was sure I was banned).

In conclusion its nearly impossible to maintain a 1 for 1 ratio on Ilovetorrents.com and if you do keep a 1 for 1 or better there is a good chance you will get banned.

The only way to avoid being banned and maintaining a 1 for 1 ratio or better is to donate money 25 dollars for 500gb upload credit.

IMO this is a money making scheme. Ilovetorrents.com used to be a great site however their content is not that great anymore (please avoid this site).

What are your thoughts?

I'll keep that in mind, and remember to avoid that site. I can't stand sites that have any sort of waiting period on new torrents. It's pretty much just making it harder for newbs to establish a decent ratio. Not cool.

i wouldn't say ILT is really that bad, it can be sort of hard to start on this site, but i had a much harder time starting on TL personally. i've had a couple of friends join ILT with a low upload speed (<150 KB/s) and they've managed to stay. ILT is not the best tracker by any means in my opinion but they do get most stuff and they usually don't have a lot of duplicate torrents which is nice.

you have to try hard at first to be able to stay on this site but i don't feel like it's unfair. all in all i'd say it's a decent "private" tracker.

after i read what u wrote i'm like wow i dont believe this guy cause i'm been about 4 month member there and got no problem to seed more than i download or maintain my ratio(well i have seedbox) and the site have improve.
and now u have to get invite to join.

ILT certainly does not suck; I have been a member there for over 4 years. Perhaps your issue was done in error. I would suggest that you email the staff their with our concerns. I suspect we are only getting one side of the story. It can be hard to maintain a ratio, especially given their upload policy. As far as donations go, it costs them money to maintain things.
