Thread: Is it possible to watch movie or install application while seeding?

Hi, I need a little help here.I was wondering if it's possible to watch a movie or install a application while I am seeding it?I know that I can always copy paste it to a diff place and then use it.But there isn't a huge place left in my hard drive,so if I continue to copy them I will have to buy another external hard drive.
So I just want to know if it's possible to use and seed at the same time before running to buy an extra hard drive.

Yes You can watch a movie and install the application just that which Client do you use ? depends on the client if the client is using the file and not letting other programs use it or not .. i use uTorrent and i don't have problem watching even if its still downloading and i can install programs as soon as they are finished and are still seeding so Which Client do you use ?

As long as the seeded file isn't modified in anyway, you shouldn't have any problems. I do it all the time. =)

One more thing, if HD space is a problem you can watch video files through VLC without unraring them.

I am using utorrent 2.0.4. Sometimes I use Deluge too or it would be too cluttered in utorrent.So can I use my downloads for both of them?

You should be clear. I would advise you, tho, that if you are watching it from a networked machine and that machine is LEECHING, you will have some lag unless both machines and your network are beefy. But when the machine is SEEDING, i have no problems. Movies or software using utorrent new.

No I wouldn't risk it during leeching.I can wait that much.I just want to use it after complete download.So I think I am clear here.

as long as it's complete and you don't alter any of the original files including folders. Like for example, if the file count are all rar's you can still unpack which alters the folder contents but the orginal files still remain untouched.
