HD-Torrents is a pretty good tracker which has both movies and musics. I just joined not long ago and find it is very easy to maintain a good ratio. And they have lots of varieties to choose from.

Here is the review of the site. Take a look.

Bit-Hdtv, TL, ipt, revtt are great source of movies and musics.
If you like non-mainstream movies, Karagara, Cinematik, Passthepopcorn will be your choice

Since you were specific whether you wanted HD content or not, I suggest a general/0day tracker like jisuka was saying...TL, IPT, SCC, RevTT.

All general trackers have a big base of movies as other users in front of me have mentioned, never failed to find a movie from TL, IPT, RevTT and if you are looking for a specific movie, than you could also request it. If you want scene, try GFT, Scc but you would probably have to make your self up there but RevTT and TL, although they do not track, have pretty fast pre-times as well.
    2 cents.

Well, I know this has become kind of a cliche here, but there is no such thing as "the better trackers." Sure, there are objectively crappy trackers, but amongst the trackers that don't completely suck, there's really not all that much better or worse- just better for what you need.

For example, some people above have suggested Karagara and Cinematik for movies. Karagarga is a great place to find rips of rare films, classics and independent international cinema. Cinematik is pretty similar, but only has full sized DVDs. Both are awesome, but serve different purposes.

I'd suggest deciding what kinds of trackers you want as a first step. Like, maybe a software tracker, a music tracker, an obscure films tracker, a mainstream films tracker and a general tracker. Then start thinking about what is important to you in a tracker: do you want a fun place to hang out? Torrents with lots of seeders, or trackers where it's easier to build ratio? If you have a seedbox or not will also be a determining factor in your ability to do well on some of the tougher sites, so that's something you have to think about.

Once you've figured out what your criteria are, you can start focusing in and ask a more specific question here. People will be more able to help you out on the forums if you are asking something specific. So, a thread asking something like "what's a good 0-day movie tracker with really good pre time and a bonus system for seed time?" would probably end up with answers you will find more useful.

At first if you want the newest movies, try almost any decent 0day (TL, SCC, RevTT, IPT, PTM, ...) noone will fail you.
If you need well known movies that could have been seen in cinemas a couple of years ago try dedicated movie tracker (teh connection, C*, P*N, Pass the popcorn)
For other movies try (Karagarga, Secret cinema, Cinemaggedon, I love classics)

    Here is my Advice/opinion:

If you are looking for bollywood/hindi movies then you should go for Desitorrent or BwT
For English/European Movies go for C*, PTP, P*N
I also heard that KG(Karagarga) Is good for old/classical movies but not sure though.
For french movies, go fo Torrent411, PLTN.

And as others suggested, if you are looking for new movies, then general trackers like IPT, TL, RevTT will get the job done for you.

Hope you will get an idea with this :)

be more specific, what exactly you looking for and how much the speed ,format ,pretime ,the ratio etc matter to you
sorry but the answer to you question write now are public trackers, they have hundreds of times more torrents than any private tracker torrents
