Thread: What and Waffles

From my limited experience, what is much harder to seed than waffles. So I would imagine for a casual user, waffles might be better simply because you do not need to put as much effort into it. (for an example, with 21 freeleech torrents seeded, I am getting 700M upload per day in waffles. I get only 240M per day for 23 freeleech torrents in what).

Right now i'm currently only a user on What.CD so I really can't compare to Waffles. I will say though, there have only been a handful of albums that I couldn't find on What, or that weren't seeded.

One of the benefits of having both the websites I would think is that you can download FLAC rips from either & then upload V0 or 320 transcodes. Easy/quick way to increase your ratio.

i tend to prefer waffles because of the advanced top10 search features which pretty much keep me on top of the new releases for my specific genre. what has nothing on this.

There are freeleech torrents on Waffles? How do I find them?

New member at both What and Waffles, and oooh its so hard seeding on both. Busy now ripping some old CD's to try and seed and get my ratio up. But must say that What just seems much better organised.

If I had to choose I would keep What and let Waffles go. But if you can have both then so much better.

But some old ex-Oink user I've met said that Waffles's atmosphere is looks like the Oink. Can anyone confirm this for me (ex-oink) because I'm just joined at what.cd recently?.

And Oink is too fast shut down to let me join there. :(

Yes, I strongly agree with this. I find it alot easier to seed on Waffles as opposed to What. On Waffles my ratio is almost a steady 2.0 which is pretty good for that site, on What I maintain usually about a 1.05-1.10, and that's me trying my hardest with a seed box.

As far as the comment above about Waffles resembling OiNK, it's very true. It's because Waffles runs the same code as Oink did, while What runs its own unique system called Gazelle (which now alot of torrent sites are starting to use and implement). Waffles even has a OiNK theme that you can use - it's cute. :001_smile:
