Thread: PTP v2

Edit: Invites are back. PUs will start receiving an invite biweekly, and donors receive one regardless of user class.

while i have heard good things about the content i have heard a lot more in terms of the constant drama and problems surrounding this site... i dont have an account there but to those who do, does this drama and other miscellaneous bs affect the site and how good it is or does it just affect the sites reputation to outsiders?

i just joined, content looks great, though it could use more activity.
V2 looks great, though i have nothing to compare it too.

Past drama hasn't really effected the normal operation of the site, only the reputation in some peoples' minds.

PTP has been under new leadership for over a month now and thus far has been operating smoothly and without drama. Seems like the new leadership has a good grasp on things and is seeking to be transparent and open to the userbase.

well yeh surely PTP is the winner in movie tracker category but how is tehconnection compared to it..just curious cuz i hve tehconnection but i dont hve PTP.

Well, here is a rundown:

TC has ~12k users, PTP has 15.5k.
TC has ~13k torrents hosting 10k movies, while PTP has 28k torrents and 17k movies.

Both trackers use the gazelle tracker codebase so their functionality is roughly the same. PTP also has a bonus point system though that's completely missing from TC. Generally I think it's easier to maintain a good ratio on PTP - more Freeleech content, the bonus system and other goodies (like a lot of competitions and upload bonuses in their forum for bonus points as rewards.) PTP also has much better collages. They are barely used on TC.

If you look at the stats it's clear that PTP has much more movies and a larger selection of available formats for the movies it has.

If you add everything together, PTP is simply the better tracker. TC is decent though, if you can't get into PTP, it's the next best alternative.
