Thread: Ntorrents Closing

Ladies and gentlemen, the big news. NTorrents is closing, our xbox sister-site XTorrents is not going to be released. We're simply combining resources into a powerful gaming tracker instead. All your favorite staffers, a few new ones, and a fresher (less buggy) gazelle code. Combine this with a new look, including a few modifications, along with our reputation of an outstanding community. We welcome you to PWNnetwork.net.

Why is this happening you ask? Easy, we want to advance beyond the constraints of offering one company's games, and we don't want to split our userbase among two sites to do it. This will be a gradual process instead of an instantaneous action though, NTorrents will stay open as an archive until we get our most dedicated users to switch over to PWNnetwork. Sign up with PWN will be separate from NT, so yes, you will lose all of your stats. Don't worry too much though, for an undetermined amount of time after the site goes live, we will support an integration processes where we will transfer your upload and download stats from NT to PWN. Everything else will be lost.

Now that we've gotten that out of the way, I have more news. After our raffle is closed, and we've gotten the prizes to the winners sent out, we will also be issuing beta access to PWN to every person who purchased a ticket in the raffle. This will be a beta period, in order for a decent amount of users to test the site, pitch ideas, and help work out issues before PWN officially goes live. So, if you don't want to wait until we launch the site to check out what PWN has to offer, go buy that ticket! Not only will you get into PWN early, but you will have a chance to win one of those great prizes.

We appreciate everyone in our community, and we hope, even though the NT journey will be ending, that we will continue being awesome through PWN.

next gaming tracker is in line and Looks like Ntorrents Staff is diversing into PC gaming too.
The nintendo/Wii specialised tracker will be closing and all resources will be pooled to a new tracker. Best of Luck to them.

What do they mean by "our xbox sister-site XTorrents is not going to be released"?

Does it mean both sites' users will be integrated into the new site and uploads/downloads will be transfered?

I liked this =P I think the new tracker will be a very powerfull game tracker. If The excelent users and uploader of Ntorrents continues on the new tracker, I'm very sure that the new tracker will make sucess.

xtorrents tracker was intended to track games not on ntorrents such as Xbox games. But to maintain ntorrents and xtorrents would be difficult and hence the inception of pwntorrents to include all games as in BG and BCG.
The stats from ntorrents will be transferred to pwntorrents but this will take time.
pwntorrents is already in testing stages.

tbh, ntorrents had an individuality by tracking everything nintendo, it was a specialization. That sets it apart from other trackers.
As all good things come to an end, ntorrents will make way for pwntorrents.

Well I am not a member there but I like this integration thing...like with Stmusic also....hope the new tracker will be much better and awesome...

I just got an account here the other day, and so far I love it. And of course as soon as I get an account there, I see that post on the main page. But hey, it looks like it will have alot of promise because the Ntorrents community is a great one so far, hopefully alot of people from there will be heading over to this newly created site.

(I don't really own anything but a Wii and DS, so I was fine with Ntorrents as it was )

Ntorrents has that nice clean layout that I like in a tracker, but I found myself never actually using it all that often. Maybe an integration is indeed a good way to go about this. I never supported the idea of a sister site that will easily split their userbase so, again, hopefully this works and we'll have 3 major gaming trackers to choose from.

Looks like Pay2Stay formula is being implemented at NT.
Initially, it was declared that present NT stats of members will be transferred to the new site. But, latest is that you got to pay 6USD to get your stats transferred.
The promised invite to the new site for non-donors looks bleak to me.
But, What's a site without members/leechers :D So, keep your fingers crossed Ladies and Gentlemen.
