Thread: Is it OK to ask for help to get material from private trackers?

Hey!
Just asking so that I dont step over any lines: is it ok to ask for help to get material from trackers that I do not have access to? Example: I want stuff from stufftracker.org, so I post "can someone help me get stuff from stufftracker org?"

not sure about this..never done it...I cannot see naything wrong with it..but I wonder if they are gonna trust you with there other files on the box and passkey...

Well there is always a better way make friends in IRC and you can ask them the same thing if they have seedbox .....

doesn't this fall under every private tracker's rule "do NOT upload our stuff somewhere else" ?

well this rule means you cannot upload or give your torrent file to some random guy..but you can use it on your seedbox which can also be accessed by friend...like I have a box and I have given access to 1 person now he can see my files and also can download it cause I don't have any issue with him downloading my file...


well asking in the forum will be little odd though...Once I got my file trough FTP from a friend of mine they were some rare anime.....

Whether or not this is technically against the rules I cannot speak to. What I will say is that you are best off doing this on IRC or somewhere else private. I can see people getting offended by it, and it opening a whole other can of worms. Unless someone from the site gives you a specific "go ahead", stay clear (or perhaps pm one at your own risk).

It isn't against the rules as far as I see it. They are against giving the torrent files out, not the files themselves. That would be ridiculous. I mean these files can be attained off of the source themselves usually by anyone.

Also, I don't see a reason as to why you couldn't get the files elsewhere or even a public tracker for that matter. Well, maybe if it a less popular HD movie, than I could see it being an issue of trying to get a hold of.
