Thread: Seedbox recommendations?

I am not sure if this is in the right thread or not, but here goes...

I have never used seedboxes before so I do not know where to go look for a good deal.

I am looking for a seedbox that will be shared with 5 other friends of mine(so a total of 6). We want a 250gb hard drive, fast speeds, unlimited active torrents, and only $30(not euro) a month.

I have already went through a few of the reviews on the seedbox reviews sub-forum on this site, and most of them are either too costly, not shared, or they cant be trusted.



It might be a lot to ask, but I am not sure where to look and which providers can be trusted. If you have any experiences, please post the provider you went with, the specs of your seedbox, and your experience with them.

Thats what I thought, but you never know. There might be a deal someday or on some other provider that matches this. It never hurts to keep looking.

well, i cant even find the deal you are talking about on getaseedbox.com
also 35 euros is around 50 dollars, which is way too much for us.

I have try 5 provider, and i didnt see anybody sell that cheaper.

The deal about 1GBps is not in the website yet, but i'm using it now. Only 100Mbps is available on web.

So good luck in finding $30/month

Wait, so your saying you only want to pay $30?! To house 6 people? If so your in the wrong market my friend. Unless you meant $30 each of you pay which is $180 than ya you could get a really good dedicated server between you guys.

But if you think you can push 6 people on one shared account then I won't stop you. Here you go:

Probable the most reliable trusted seedbox provider. I was looking at the 3XL that's located in France. Currently on it now, very good speeds! 10GB short of your 250, unlimited torrents as requested but $5.00 over your limit sorry =/

I would really reccomend, as Synth has above, Xirvik for a seed box. If you read HERE other people as well as myself has posted information/reviews of this company. If you have any questions just shoot me a pm and I will do my best to help you out :).

Also when you say 6 people do you mean 6 people share the same 250 gig account? If that is the case it might work if you trust all your friends enough to have the same username/password. As I have never been in this situation I do not know if Xirvik will care that the account is being shared. You can always send them an email for information, they reply back pretty quickly.

I've been happy with BigSB - $25 for 2 months / 100GB disk space / 2TB per mo. upload cap. They have 2 months of 200GB /3TB for $50 - that fits your request pretty closely. Good speeds for a shared 100Mbps box (I've gotten upwards of 10MB/s upload at times) and great support. Got set up within 24 hours of payment. I recommend.

this is probably the best deal i have seen so far for my budget. If anyone has any inputs on this, please respond with what package u got, how long it took u to get set up, and any other things u remember.

Thats a great OVH server u linked there. Its actually called the EG Max and its one powerful server. Regardless if UltraSeeds is good or not that is an OVH server so u should be alright except all the problems OVH is having lately. I dont know if Ultra is trusted so another user may have to answer that question.

I suggest u do this. Contact them and ask them if u can get that server for u and 5 of your friends instead of sharing it with users u dont know. They might just let u do that. The only thing is each user may have to pay that price. Theres no way u will find a server for 6 people to use for just $30. Unless u buy a dirt cheap low-end server and squeeze 6 users on it. However, your server will then suffer and crash a lot due to being overloaded. Also buying a shared seedbox and then sahring your account with 6 other users is a really bad idea. The company can log & see how many users are actually using the server. So i'd think twice before doing that.

Honestly, the seedbox business is getting bad right now due to limitations and its not going to get better. Theres just to much money being spent by the re-sellers and there providers are constantly changing things around, so i would try and up your budget a tad bit or u will be looking and waiting a long time.
