Default A tip for those who want an invite for what.cd

Firstly, all credit for this goes to scottkk as he is the one who pointed it out in another thread.
If you have an account with thebox.biz, once you have reached power user status, you can ask for a what.cd invite in their forums and get one quite easily.
I never knew about this until scottkk mentioned this and I've been using thebox.biz for about a year.
Within 24 hours of asking I was giving an invite to what.cd

Even if you have no interest in UK tv shows, the effort is a lot easier than the what.cd interview process and there are quite often invites available here for thebox.biz.

And once you have what.cd, all you have to do is get poweruser status and you can get on tonnes of top level trackers like scc, gft, tl, x264 and others just by asking in the invite forum!

I think a more generally useful tip for those who are not members at thebox.biz or other specific trackers would be to point people to the whatcd IRC interview.

The instructions and preparations for this can be found here:
    What.CD: A Beginner's Guide

This is how I got into whatcd. All told the process (including reading the above link thoroughly, queuing up in IRC and taking the interview) took around 2 hours. I would definitely say the time is worth it for such an amazing site!

I don't disagree with people taking this option but I think it's an over the top proccess for those who want to download and seed torrents.
For those who want to upload then obviously knowing all the info about bit rates etc before hand is a good idea.

I orginally thought the same as you, I tried their interview proccess and failed twice.
I wasn't going to bother but a couple of people really rated the content on what.cd.
Now I am a member I am very impressed with the content and every search I have done has come up trumps and obscure stuff I've been looking for a long time is on the tracker as well.
The elitist attitude with the interview proccess is way over the top in my opinion but then I accept the purpose of it for those who want to upload.
Perhaps the could have a two tier system, one for those who wish to leech to seed and those who also want to upload.
For anyone who loves music I think the effort is well worth it.

The correct domain is not *.biz, but *.bz
Yep, at their forum there is a special thread with giveaway of what-invites but I found it only after registering there. That is not correct to reg at thebox just to become a power user - request an invite and forget about tracker... Of course, if you're interested in british tv-shows and registered first of all for tracker content - that's the right choice. But trying to get at one torrent just to become a member of another - that is absolutely crazy

My bad with the typo on the domain name.
If you check the first thread created by the sysadmin with regard to what.cd invites he clearly states:

So, any Power User or above can PM me for an invite - simples!

Of course you are entitled to your opinion but for some people it's not a crazy idea when the invites are highly sought after for what.cd
I am lucky that that I was already a member of thebox.bz and also a power user.
It not much different from uploading and seeing stuff one is not insterested in to be able to increase their ratio on a particular tracker and the advice given on the forum for this is welcomed by many.

I see - so maybe I should get into Thebox.bz - and then after using my Seedbox, aim to be a PU and then request an invite?

I am a music lover - but right now my source is simply Usenet for it. Maybe I ought to give What.Cd a shot.

Are these invitations given without the knowledge of what.cd ???becaue usually what.cd is very strict regarding invites....even T-I has banned what.cd invites to be shared...so what if what.cd comes to kno abt this??
