Thread: Issues with uTorrent 2.0

So I wanted to start a thread about some issues I am having with uTorrent 2.0. I also want to see what other users of the client are experiencing and if any of you guys are noticing the same.

I am on Windows7, decent PC and 4.0gb ram. I have been using uTorrent 2.0 for the past couple of weeks. No major issues, everything seems to work, torrent download speeds are fine and it is a stable client overall.

My main gripe, is that since using 2.0, my internet browsing has been super sluggish. Web pages take ages to load, sometimes timing out or half-loading. I am having to refresh my browser several times before the pages load properly. My missus has also been complaining about the issue.

Today I thought I would have a bit of a look. I notice other users out there complaining of the same issue.



I got my hands on 1.8.5, installed it and from the get go, I have had NO issues. Pages load as they should and are not timing out any more. My settings have also remained identical in both versions.

I would like to hear more from you guys, about your experiences with version 2.0 and if you are noticing similar issues to me?

hmm thats weird. uTorrent 2.0 has UTP support built in and this should allow others on your network or own connection to browse the web with little to no interruption. I personally never had a problem like this with any uTorrent even 2.0. Maybe u had your global connections set to high or u were choking your connection. Thats what it sounds like to me. Anyway, i like 2.0 and never had 1 issue with it yet, but i still think 1.8.2 is the best, imo

Well tonight I wonder what happened but utorretn autoupdated itself..To tell you the truth the new skin looks much better but some tracker I was on didn't allowed it so Now that I am up the first thing i did is uninstalled it and now back to 1.8.5.But I have heard it do some sort of utorrent-utorrent preference thing... ;)

since getitng ut 2.0 my comp lags when comming out of standby, pages load slow and windows hangs. so im not sure whats goin on. I didnt get any updates though.

YES! Tru_ninja, that sounds exact. So many people on the uTorrent forums with similar complaints. I think i'll give it some time before deciding to update it. Hopefully by then the new creases will be ironed out.

I did not find any problems with utorrent 2.0 but my max download speed has reduced by 30 kbps, i have tried to download the most well seeded torrents from tti.nu and tv which are really fast trackers.

I dont know is their any problem with utorrent 2.0 or with me?

I have been having BSOD issues while using 1.8.x
I updated to 2.0 which hopefully fixes things.

I haven't had any issues with 2.0 as of yet. Are you running peerblock or something maybe slowing your browsing, or anti-virus? Otherwise sounds like upload or download is slowing your connection, maybe too high?

My pages do take forever to load even if i limit download speed..
