Default Please Help. Internet Resets With Bittorrent Running

Hi all. First I would like to say im exited about joining the community and I want to thank anyone beforehand before getting any help. I know this happens to a lot of people and there a ton of threads on how to fix it but my problem is with my modem and not my router as I dont use a router.

Basically during day and evening hours my connection resets over and over. At night it usually doesnt do it at all until the morning. I am using utorrent 1.8.5. I will include some pics to help anyone out and answer any questions before hand. Please let me know if I can post some additional info

My router is an Arris TM402P

Your router can't handle the amount of connections utorrent is making. Are you connected through wireless? I used to have the same problem with my old modem while trying to torrent wireless-ly. My problem was greatly reduced when I plugged in my laptop, instead. My connection would still regularly reset itself, but it didn't happen nearly as frequently, maybe 4-5 times a day.

    This.

Try lowering the global maximum number of connections.

I would have to agree with roger09 on this. It sounds like your modem cant handle the load from torrenting, but im not 100 % sure on this. Can u post some additional info please, like what OS, ISP are u using? what exactly happens when it resets and what do u do to fix it? and finally, how many torrents do u have running when this happens?

Depending on who your ISP is and if your modem is really old, u can usually update its firmware by first, visiting your ISP's website to find out if there is a newer firmware version released and then second, ask your ISP to push it to the modem. If that doesnt fix it then u may need to replace your modem. U can always login to your modem's status page at IP 192.168.100.1 and check the status and logs for errors. This should give u some idea of whats going on.
