Source: STUDY: Only 1% of BitTorrent Files are “Non-Infringing”

First are the results about the types of files available. Note that they only surveyed the Mainline trackerless BitTorrent system and did not take number of downloads into consideration, meaning that some may have never been downloaded, only that they were available.
    The breakdown:
    46% movies and shows (non-pornographic)
    14% games and software
    14% pornography <-- LOL!

    10% music
    1% books and guides
    1% images
    14% could not classify
Your take on this? I truly believe that this is true, lol.

BitTorrent census: about 99% of files copyright infringing

Ahh, very similar to this topic. But the findings are less than shocking, nonetheless. I mean, seriously, how many linux ISO's and free albums can honestly be released, to support this many trackers?

if you don't count indietorrents most sites offer only pirated material, i have even seen in some trackers upload rules that uploading freely available material is against their rules (stuff like freeware)

Why do you think nobody has heard of LegalTorrents - Film, Music and Digital Media.
tlnz is right, it's hilarious that uploading legal and freely available files on trackers is usually looked down on haha.

I'm surprised that programs and games are only 14%! I thought it'd been more than movies.
