Thread: Admin EliteBits got visited by a court official

The admin from EliteBits, aka mr ‘Laeborg’ has been raided. This happend past friday. He got visited by a man from the enforcement court and three men from 'JS Advokatfirma', one of the law firms that is currently working with Danish anti-piracy group, Antipiratgruppen. They claim having traced him via the bank account witch was used to accept donations from their members.

“The collection of evidence started when they asked me to turn on my computer which I did,” Laeborg explains. “They asked me to go to elitebits.org where they took screenshots of my profile and screenshots of the statusbar that says: “Welcome, Laeborg (Owner).”

After that they took screenshots of all the staff profiles, the Top 10 downloaders, the Top 50 uploaders and various other lists, including uploaded torrents.

After they took screenshots of hashes and NFOs linked to a some torrent files, Laeborg was asked for the user database. He explained that he couldn’t provide it and they would need to speak to host Netdirekt.

Various “non-legal” CDs and DVDs were seized from Laeborg’s office for destruction, with an assurance that the contents wouldn’t be examined. The evidence was copied to a USB drive and the group left.

I've read this, but in text says there was no police or warrant officers at the scene. This guy didnt need to obey their commands at all like he did. I thought a Owner of a private tracker should know this.. and now he jeopardize not only himself but the rest of the crew and members only cause he was a chicken shit and agree to do everything they demanded..

After producing screenshots from EliteBits, information on the bank account used to collect site donations and a warrant, they explained that they had come to secure evidence to show Laeborg was involved in the illegal distribution of copyright works.

If they did had legal warrant and such then wouldnt had to make screenshots on his PC, but would have confiscated the whole thing. Its obvious they came to collect the needed info, to build up a strong case against the tracker in court, so they didnt have one yet. But thanks to him, they will now.
