Thread: Cross seeding

I was told that cross seeding is a way to upload one and the same torrentfile to multiple trackers. And I was wondering if there's a program or tool or something build which uses cross seeding?

You just use use your torrent client to download something from a tracker and then go to the others trackers and see if what you downloaded is there (Releases with Same name) . If it's there you download the torrent and simply add to your toorrent client. Will start a file verification of the files that you have in your PC and then are two things than could happen:

1 - Every files are compatible and the torrent client starts to upload.

2 - Some files are missing and the torrent client will download the rest.

NOTE: Some trackers like TL have wait time for the new accounts, if you are downloading something that have to download any files and you have this wait times you should go to the torrent options (files) and then choose to Not Download and you become a partial seeder.

Thanks very much. I will try it out. But you're not aware of any tool in which you can set your private trackers (or anything) and then it automatically seeds from all those trackers? I'm just curious because I think something like that would spare you some time.

That'll require autochecking of your files with all torrents that are uploaded in that particular tracker. This will require too much bandwidth loss and too much work for computer for little fruit. Notice that work checking work exponentially increases as you increase the number of tracker and your torrent list.

I've tried it with TL but I'm not quite sure how to do it with uTorrent. Is there maybe a Guide or something for it.
