Default Trackers in which one can cross-seed safely

I would like all member as TI to contribute and share their experiences in cross seeding across various trackers.

Please list all the tracker you have cross-seeded and have not got banned, warned or caught

I have cross-seeded TV shows across these trackers

    IPT
    TL
    Torrent-Damage
    Speed.cd
    Bitsoup
    Demonoid

in most cases for scene release there is a very high chance of cross-seeding as the rar files dont change.

What does changes is that most trackers include a text file which says from which tracker it has been downloaded.

To know how i cross seed please read these 2 posts by me

wow i thought cross-seeding was allowed at every tracker? why would any of them forbid it, dont they want as many users as possible seeding files?

    Hi,
I cross seed between TL/BG/PTM/IPT/RevTT. No problem for the moment.
I remove specific files (nfo...) that are not common between the trackers.

@Mr Plow - Cross Seeding is not allowed on all tracker as it frowned upon by most trackers as it goes against their foundation of being a "Closed Private Tracker" and also because one reads carefully in every FAQ (most trackers have the ditto same one with very little or no change at all) it is mentioned that if one uploads their torrents to another tracker they are likely to be banned .

@acela - i think this is what probably must have happened with you @ waffles.

Since cross-seeding is as good as uploading a torrent on another tracker without downloading it from them and not being on their upload team

@youri - I agree with that if one removes the .nfo files of the various trackers then cross-seeding is no problem at all cause after all we are dealing with scene releases and the releases are meant to be mirror copies down to the individual CRC's of the individual RAR files.

But in my case i actually keep the tracker specific nfo files because in this case because when the announce is made i get a status=completed instead of a status=started (which would be the case if some files were missing or incomplete or not downloaded). Because the tracker gets a status=completed announce it knows I am a seeder and I am awarded the seeding bonuses which many trackers posses

I'm curious as to which sites don't allow cross-seeding. I've been doing something similar for as long as I can remember. I'll usually grab what I can from usenet and if I want to build a bit of buffer somewhere I'll keep the rars and seed them. You just have to make sure that when you grab the torrent it doesn't add the tracker to an existing torrent.

As for the "do not upload our torrents elsewhere" bit, I think that they are referring to the actual .torrent files themselves as that would reveal their tracker and your passkey. Unless, of course, they are referring to content created on behalf of the site as opposed to the 99% (in most cases) of content stolen from the scene.

Thanks Ascariboy. How do you deal with such files different for each tracker ?
Have you look at this thread ?

@roger09 - I think the trackers on which one cant are

Waffles - Acela's Experience (Read above post no 3)

ScL - Since they keep a track of how much one has uploaded, downloaded and has been seeding back for.

@youri - I manage and oversee my cross-seeding torrents manually unlike you where you have a script to download and add to uTorrent(which is pretty awesome i might add).

For example ill explain how i cross seed amongst IPT,TL,Speed and TD

    Lets my torrent be Top.Gear.S14.E04.FoV

this torrent is present in all the 4 trackers..

The additions made by various trackers are

IPT :- Add their own .nfo
Speed.cd :- Add their own .nfo
TL :- At times at their own .nfo
    TD :- Do nothing

Apart from the tracker specific nfo's the rest of the files in the torrent are mirror copies of one another.

So what i do is that i download the file from TL first into C:\Downloads

Once its finished I download the torrent from the other trackers and add them to uTorrent making sure no 2 torrents are combined. In other words all 4 trackers are listed as different entries in uTorrent and the announce URL's are not combined into 1.

Then I do a force check on all the torrents. At this stage uTorrents realises that certain .nfos are missing for the Speed.cd and IPT torrents and nothing is missing from the TD torrent. So it proceeds to download the same from the respective trackers.

Once the missing files are downloaded, individually all the torrents are complete and when an announce is made a status=completed(since completion is at 100% and am seeding back) instead of status=started(when not all the files are downloaded) is sent.

Thus at sites like IPT and Speed.cd since im seeding back i get their seed bonus points.

Thus I am able to cross-seed across various trackers irrespective of their own files which are added into their own torrents

Bottom line being as long as certain files are different (like tracker specific .nfo / included subtitles / included samples) which dont alter the CRC's of the individual rar files Cross-seeding is relatively safe and easy.

Any doubts feel free to discuss here
