Default Ratioless a good place to start?

I joined TI recently thinking i wanted invites to BitMe TV, Waffles etc. but after reading through many of the great informative threads on this site i realise i might struggle to maintain a good enough ratio on these sites.

I didnt even know there was such a thing as "ratioless" trackers. Are sites like GFT and PTN comprable to Torrent Leech and other good general trackers?

I should add i'm more than happy to leave torrents seeding for days or weeks after i have finished them but i dont have a seedbox or get great upload speeds and hate the idea that most trackers demand you seed to a certain ratio for every torrent.

    Any advice appreciated.

Personally you should sign up or grab a low level invite to places like RevTT, IPT, TL etc They are very easy to keep a ratio because of the userbases.
Personally you need to learn the basics about keeping a ratio as you will want niche sites in the future and this is the best way to learn.
Start out on new torrents or small torrents with lots of leechers. Seed them for weeks and you will be fine. I surive easily with 100kb/s on most sites before I purchased a seedbox.

General 0-day sites are the way to go.

i agree with casual2 even in a ratio less tracker u still have to seed for 72hours if im not wrong but most definitely go with a lower tracker first IPT is really easy to keep a good ratio even sites with freeleech are even better to gain like PTF,TDC,torrentbits, filelist and many others just dont go crazy when u get into the site i been dying to get into and DL everything u see and want start off slow and the littler the file the better when u first start and freeleech is your best friend if you take your time you will be ok mate good luck

With ratio free trackers torrents seem to die out quicker but using them is so much easier if you have a slow connection.

Torrents are GFT do not get very good retention rates comparing to something like TL, but then again TL has a lot more user than GFT.

Sites like iptorrents are very easy to maintain ratio and retention rates are pretty good as well. So if you are downloading mostly 0 day stuff, ratio free trackers are great and you can complement it with something like iptorrent/TL/RevTT for older content.

Also, when you start out don't go crazy downloading torrents if you have a slow upload connection. I did this and learned the hard way. Almost every tracker, and this site too, will have some sort of tutorial on how to get your ratio up. Look for them, read them, and utilize those techniques. Remember, "cross seeding" is your friend.

thanks for the replies. using Rev TT as an example, they require a ratio of .8, i'm sure i could get that easily with 700mb movies but with things like 7gb xbox games i think i would be no chance going on ratios ive been able to achieve in the past.

s2cuts, ive read about cross seeding, wouldnt it take me months to build up sufficient credit to
comfortably dl 7gb files and not have to worry about ratio watch?

PtN isn't a general/0Day tracker, so it doesn't compare to one. Sites like GFT and even ratio trackers like SCC can't compare to TL in terms of content, but they exist primarily to deliver scene releases as fast as possible after pre, and in that respect, they are very good.

The sites you mentioned: GFT, PtN, BitmeTV and even Waffles, are all sites you need to prove yourself to get into. Most people aren't so lucky as to start out at GFT - you need to join a ratio tracker first, show you can build a good ratio, and then maybe someone will be willing to invite you. Another thing is that a lot of these "high-level" trackers tend to be overrated. People get excited about them because they are hard to get into, but in reality, a combination of TvT and Freshon is actually better than BitmeTV in almost every respect.

Long story short: don't worry so much about joining ratioless trackers. In my experience, they aren't as good as their ratio-laden brethren in terms of content and speeds, and there are plenty of sites out there that are both easy to seed and have good content and speeds. Just aim for sites that fulfill your needs instead of sites that you believe will increase your e-peen. Example: TL instead of SCC, TvT+Freshon over BitmeTV, etc. You'll just enjoy it more because you won't have to constantly think, "is this download going to destroy my ratio?"

I suppose it depends on your upload speed, but a 20 GB buffer is usually good enough to get started downloading bigger games as long as you seed them back. That will probably only take a few days. You might be surprised how easily they seed back as long as you jump on them as soon they are released. If you're talking about older stuff - it might be easier to deal with a site like Bitgamer where people are more inclined to grab the older stuff and you have a pretty good chance to seed things back. General/0Day sites are mostly good for new stuff released in the past few days, and torrents die pretty quickly at RevTT. You might also consider a tracker like TL or IPT, where even older torrents actually seed back pretty well (not so much on RevTT).

theres seems to be a lot of love for IPT. i read the review, is that correct that the required global ratio is only .3? i guess i should be able to maintain that pretty easily.

    Taken from IPT FAQ

What is the minimum ratio i should keep?

Every user has obligation to keep his ratio any time above .96. Once your ratio is below .96 you will receive a warning from the system. Once your ratio is greater than .95 the warning will be automatically removed by the system.
I think you start out with 2gb up if i remember though.

Ratio less trackers are easy if you have a slow connection. However you can easily upload more on ratio trackers than ratio less, especially if you only download free leech torrents

And yes Croynn i do believe you start off with 2GB upload

I would honestly recommend IPT as a starter tracker. Very good content, speeds and leechers/seeders.
