    well this just happened to a kid in rhode island (if something happens in RI everyone knows about it)
    and a kid was charged to pay 4 record companys $675,000

    I don't believe that there is a consequence of anything past paying a fine here in canada.

    But I wouldn't be surprised if they removed an internet connection.

    I got caught about 6 years ago by EA Games for sharing an iso of one of their PS2 games on IRC. They sent this HUGE letter filled with legal jargon explaining why I may be sued lol. needless to say they never did anything. I had over 100 ps2 games and 500gb of music as well on there. no more fileserving on IRC for me :p bit torrent is where i've been since and know how to protect myself. :D

    Confiscating my computer? Committing suicide would sound like a real good idea, at least until the parts for a new one came in from newegg.
