Default 20+ New Private Trackers: December 2009

If anything can be said in a positive light about the demise of SceneTorrents, it’s that trackers both new and old are enjoying increased activity. As irreplaceable as ScT is, here are 20 new private tracker hopefuls looking for a place among the torrent world.

http://svenskapirater.org
Category: General (Swedish) Codebase: TBDev
Signup URL: http://svenskapirater.org/signup.php

SvenskaPirater is a brand-new Swedish scene/general tracker that lists 45 active torrents in their first week. Svenska was actually conceived as Runbits.org until finally settling on the new domain (we think Runbits was better).

Our prediction — Internationally, SvenskaPirater is of little use to the average English torrenter. However, there’s some nice games/PC-ISOs & DVDRs which are universal.

GameSphere™ Login
Category: General Codebase: TBDev
Signup URL: GameSphere™ Signup

UndeadNetwork is a new general tracker that showed some signs of promise in the beginning of November (they redesigned the site, added java IRC) but the only thing they’re not adding is torrents (there’s just 16 total, with the newest torrent added on Nov. 18th). It looks a lot like Zombieland in here.

Our prediction — Unless they can get some torrents in there, this tracker won’t stay undead for very long. No new torrents in nearly two weeks can never be a positive sign. Is it abandoned?

HD Life - Mon Compte
Category: HD (French) Codebase: unknown
Signup URL: here

It took a bit longer than planned to get the old HDParadise site back online, but HD-Life.net is finally ready to go. Online since November 12th (ish), HD-Life already lists an impressive 850 HD torrents. One thing that really stands out is the double-category icons listed next to each torrent (one is for format/rls type, the other is for categorical breakdown), which makes it extremely easy to filter specific torrent types.

Our prediction — Great design, lots of peers, all new signups receive 20GB upload credit. Be advised that most of the content is French-only, although there’s a decent amount of MULTI-lang releases (BD5/BD9 & full Blu-Rays, mostly). There’s also a growing selection of HD music (FLAC, WAV, Digital DTS), which presently includes 170 torrents.

OpenDNS
Category: Games Codebase: TBDev?
Signup URL: ::Madhouse Games:: :: Signup

Online since October 16/09, Madhouse-Games already lists 2,500 members and 1,350 torrents - not bad for a games tracker that’s only been around 6 weeks. There’s also some online games (arcade, casino, poker) available.

Our prediction — They’re off to a great start; loads of fresh games torrents coming in daily. Content is a mixed-bag between console and PC, although there’s also more than 200 different game guides to choose from.

OpenDNS
Category: General Codebase: TBDev
Signup URL: You’ll find it.

SupersonicTorrents lists just 134 active torrents & 175 members since Oct 13/09. When last visited - there were two users online - myself and the owner. Indexing axxo torrents can’t help; neither can chopping off the scene groups from the torrent titles.

Our prediction — Prove us wrong, but this one has fail tracker written all over it. We weren’t particularly fond of receiving a PM as soon as we signed up, of course pointing us towards their donation system.

Share The Remote
Category: Television Codebase: Gazelle
Signup URL: Registration Closed :: Share The Remote

PassThePopcorn’s answer to their popular movie site is ShareTheRemote, a Gazelle-based television tracker. At last check, signups were now closed. For those who are already familiar with TV-Vault, STR is a similarly-styled site but caters to TV releases both new and old.

Our prediction — Certainly there’s a market for Gazelle TV trackers, and 5,000+ members at STR won’t argue. Loads of full seasons are indexed, as well as individual episodes in both XviD and x264 (720p) format.

The Collectors
Category: General (Rom/Eng) Codebase: unknown
Signup URL : here

Not so sure if "The Collectors" is such a great name for a tracker, God-forbid if a torrent forum ever was so bold. Anyways, what we have here is a Romanian tracker with a magical 666 members and 167 active torrents.

Our prediction — If anything else, this site made us LOL hard. Next to each torrent, there’s an associated age restriction for downloading - so, when signing up, if you mistakenly entered your age being 2, then all torrents are off-limits to you. Too bad, so sad kiddie; find another tracker. However, if you said that you’re 3 years old, you’ll get to download quite a bit of content (sorry, but porn and scary movies are off-limits to you, although you’ll be able to download wallpapers and even some FLAC music). What we really, really want to know is how many 3-year olds are signing up at private trackers? Is there a tracker niche for toddlers, and what type of torrents would be the most popular for this demography? NEXT!

Scene 2 U :: Welcome to Scene 2 U
Category: General Codebase: TS SE
Signup URL: Look for it.

Off to a decent start, Scene2u lists 208 active torrents & 93 members in less than a week. Everything is freeleech, and new users start out with 10GB upload credit. We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but be wary of the external torrents.

Our prediction — One thing that perplexes us is why in the world would a private tracker mix in "external" public torrents on the site? The only site that can pull this off successfully is Demonoid. We’ve brainstormed over it, but the only logical conclusion that we could come up with is to make it appear that there are more torrents. Why not just download those public torrents, host them on a seedbox and put them up on your own tracker? It’s a no-brainer that other lame sites do this very same thing (*ahem* aXXo torrents being hosted on an actual private tracker), but it’s an entirely different matter when you run a tiny tracker and your members receive unexpected DMCA notices.

.:WORD TORRENTS:. - Index
Category: General (Portuguese/Brazil) Codebase: BtiT 1.4
Signup URL: .:WORD TORRENTS:. - Account Management

Just 63 active torrents & 397 members since Sept. 12/09: this pretty much sums it up for WordCheats/Word Torrents. Not much here for the English folk; not much here for anyone else, for that matter.

Our prediction — Even though they’ve managed to add a respectable amount of new torrents recently, it still can’t save them from a big fat thumbs-down. Whether it’s 63 torrents or 63,000 - it doesn’t matter: coded using BtiT v1.4, surely your eyes will hemorrhage in their sockets. As we’ve said before, ugliness will be their demise.

http://www.shipwrecktorrentz.com]
Category: General Codebase: BtiT 1.4
— Signup: Don’t.

First of all, we apologize to WordCheats above for saying they have an ugly tracker. Well, they are rather hideous - but they’re not the ugliest tracker in this review. Nope, that title goes to ShipWreckTorrentz. Ship Wreck, Train Wreck, Plane Crash (all are appropriate titles) - here’s a tracker that, if the design doesn’t make you want to gouge out your eyes with a rusty spoon, then certainly the torrents will.

Our prediction — Actually, ShipWreck lists an impressive 800 active torrents. Too bad that all 800 are external using public trackers. On the other hand, that’s 800 more "illegal" torrents than Mininova lists. What’s that up ahead? An iceberg? No doubt that this is just some kid’s hobby site, and shouldn’t be taken as a serious attempt to create a "tracker".

OpenDNS
Category: General Codebase: unknown
Signup URL:

While not the prettiest tracker in the world, Definite-Scene makes up for it in content. In their first three weeks, there’s already more than 500 active torrents - most of which is scene.

Our prediction — Pretty decent start so far; while D-S won’t be breaking any records for pretimes or DL speeds, there’s a good well-rounded selection of torrents.

BiTTShare NetWorks :: Welcome to BiTTShare NetWorks
Category: General (Rom/Eng) Codebase: TS SE
Signup URL: BiTTShare NetWorks :: Registration

BittShare is a new general tracker that lists just 56 active torrents. The site went down right in the middle of this review, so we can’t tell you much else.

Our prediction — Looks as though BittShare has been abandoned recently - only two new torrents were added during the past week (and both are smaller than 15 MB). Feel free to go and snatch up whatever you want, they probably won’t be around long anyways.

XBOX Torrents :: Welcome to XBOX Torrents
Category: Games (XBOX) Codebase: TS-SE
Signup URL: XBOX Torrents :: Registration

XboxTorrents has actually been around since the end of July ‘09. If you didn’t already guess, we’re looking at XBOX torrents. Stats: 508 total torrents & 2,787 members.

Our prediction — For a tracker that caters solely to XBOX releases, we have a winner! Unfortunately, retention isn’t great (there’s only 336 seeders for 508 torrents, which means a lot of dead torrents). Also, we could only find 10 XBOX-360 releases (the rest are 1st-gen Xbox console torrents).

Xtra - Scene v2.4
Category: General (Rom/Eng) Codebase: TBDev
Signup URL: Signup

We can understand why staff tend to seek out the word ’scene’ when selecting a domain name for a tracker, but there are only a few that are actually able to lay claim to having good scene access, and Xtra-Scene surely isn’t one of them. In fact, we were almost unable to find any scene releases whatsoever. Junk torrents? You bet: Half of all active torrents are smaller than 350MB, and more than 100 of their 700 torrents are under 15MB in size.

Our prediction — While Xtra-Scene boasts 700+ active torrents on their browse page, the true figure is closer to about 280 seeded torrents. Chalk this one up to another tracker that probably won’t survive to see the new year; that is, unless they paid in advance for the hosting.

Other Failing Romanian trackers:

• Ghostlist.org is another doomed tracker, basically for the same reasons as above. 326 active torrents since 04/08/09, many of which are dead.

• SceneReactor.net - which looks incredibly sharp, won’t be able to get the job done with 6 or 7 daily torrents (half of which are DOA). Lists just 82 active torrents in their first three weeks since 09/11/09.

• Also, Reflection-Music is a failing new music tracker with just 58 torrents in their first month.

• FileTorrents.ro - just 110 active torrents since 28/09/09.

• BlueFiles.ro - Lists 111 active torrents since 11/11/09. Don’t expect great speeds.

DVD4All - Logowanie
Category: DVD (Polish) Codebase: TBDev
Signup URL: DVD4All - Rejestracja

DVD4All is a nice new DVD5/DVD9 tracker that indexes 230 torrents in their first two weeks. Members count in at 1,000 - and total seeders is 709 which shows some decent activity.

Our prediction — International users won’t be attracted to DVD4All, but for Polish torrenters, this tracker is super! Everything is ready to burn/play - no rars, files are natively in their original condition - VOB & IFO files (VIDEO_TS structure).

Jambands.fm
Category: Music (Niche) Codebase: Gazelle
Signup URL: Register :: Jambands.fm

Great-looking new Jambands is a Gazelle music tracker that features concerts and livesets, mostly from select bands such as Phish and Grateful Dead. Active torrents list in at 127, split equally as MP3 (V0) and FLAC.

Our prediction — We don’t know how to rate this one. If you’re a huge fanboi of Phish, Jerry Garcia Band & Grateful Dead, then you’re gonna love this tracker. If not, then there’s nothing here for you.

HugeFinger forum = skateboard, mtb, bmx, paintball, Bittorrent tracker.
Category: Niche Codebase: unknown
Signup URL: You’ll find it.

New HugeFinger is a niche tracker for videos pertaining to skateboarding, BMX, mountain-biking and even paintball. This is one of the most unique trackers (forums?) we’ve ever come across (in a good way!).

Our prediction — You probably won’t be able to find any of these torrents elsewhere, but they only list 27 so far.
[URL= http://fatal-attraction.in
— Category:
0day/Scene Codebase: TBDev
Signup URL: http://fatal-attraction.in/signup.php

Hello, what’s this? Do we have a scene tracker? It appears that FatalAttraction just so happens to have scene access, by the look of things. They already list an impressive 2,900 torrents in just 11 days. Great start, so far!

Our prediction — With only 673 members, expect signups to remain open for a little while longer (we’re guessing until they hit the 5K mark). If we had one complaint, it’s that most of the releases are classified as scene spam (MP3, MViDs, 0day) although popular scene TV rls and movies can also be found in the mix.

eLearning Trackers

OpenDNS
Category: eLearning Codebase: TBDev
Signup URL: DOCS TORRENTs

DocsPedia - online since November 2nd and still open directly to public registration, Docs is the official resurrection of the popular docs.torrents.ro tracker. This eLearning tracker consists of 1,600 active torrents (150+ are HD) - many of which were imported from the old site.

Our prediction — We have to hand it to DocsPedia for successfully breathing some new life into documentaries, eLearning and the like. While not quite the same caliber of content as BitMe.org (which lists 13,337 torrents), Docs is a suitable stand-in, and much easier to maintain a good ratio (most HD torrents are freeleech).

DOCSBITS :: Login
Category: eLearning Codebase: TBDev
Signup URL: DOCSBITS :: Signup

DocsBits, which was previously announced here, is actually a spinoff tracker of docs.torrents.ro (not the official relaunch). It’s been said that registration will remain open until 7,000 members are achieved - DocsBits currently lists ~3,000 users. If there’s a war between DocsPedia and DocsBits, the true winners are the users - as both sites list an impressive amount of torrents in their first month of being online.

Our prediction — Since opening in early November, DocsBits had just 85 active torrents back when we reviewed them - and now indexes more than 1,500 - rightfully establishing themselves as a competitive eLearning tracker.

Docspedia is turning out to be pretty decent. Not many of the others seem too appealing.
