!! - This is where your credits went - !!

Throughout our history, we've experience many problems with our old system... none of which were related to our actual system, but rather the exploitation and abuse of it by malicious members. We also had calls of unfairness, though we tried our best to balance out the system.
As part of our crusade against the abusive leechers hidden amongst our numbers, we've recently rolled out new features and updated existing ones with great success.
The one thing we hadn't fixed was our credit system, which brings us to this:

Our new system fairly rewards credits based on a large number factors. It's a big honkin formula, and takes several hundred thousand times longer to run then the old system. And since credits are meant to be a reward, this system actually does reward people who go beyond what's required. In fact, it only rewards people who go beyond the requirements

Here's an outline of the new system:

  • New exchange rate is 1cr:1MB




  • Rewards are distributed hourly instead of every 15 minutes


  • Base reward rate is based on the torrent size. The base rate is simply the torrent size in MB divided by 72 hours. This means if you seed for 72 hours, you would get enough credits to buy off the download amount from your global ratio. However, we cap the base rate to that of a 1GB torrent, slightly above average size and around 14cr/h, because there were problems with larger torrents (our largest would have earned at least 700cr per hour!).


  • You only earn credits after the first 72 hours of seeding. The first 72 hours are required to clear hit and runs. Like we said, rewarding above the requirements


  • Every 72 hours after the second 72 hours gives you a 10% bonus in your earning rate. Why after the second 72 hours? We figure the first 72 is to clear hit and runs, and the second 72 is basically a requirement for those who want to remove the download. The bonus caps at 100%.


  • For every kB/s you are seeding at (for that particular torrent), you earn a 1% bonus in addition to the seed time bonus. This caps at 100% bonus (100kB/s). But this is only per-torrent, meaning if you seed torrent A at 100kB/s (100% bonus), torrent B won't get the bonus.


Because the new system is... well, new, we had to reset all credits to 0. Since we are still weeding out the malicious members among us, we had to do this unannounced, lest they attempt to spend their reserves before the reset.
If you were saving for something legitimate, like removing download to save ratio, send us a support ticket requesting w/e you were saving for. We know how much everyone had prior to the reset, however we will only be manually adding in cases that actually require it. Stockpiling and ratiowhoring are not scenarios that require it, we'll only remove download if you actually need it gone. We also won't add invites since you can't use them right now anyway.

In a totally related note, the credit store is closed while we add some new products (individual freeleech and other cool stuff!) and calculate prices based on how much income is being distributed.
