I've had this question for a long time just never bothered asking anyone. Is it possible to raise your upload speed in any which way? Cause im sick and tired of wasting energy leaving my computer on at night and then only have seeded 50kb/s with a total of 1GB. Can anyone give me an answer to this?

If your home connection can't upload beyond 50k/s and you don't want to leave it on all the time you need a seed box. Dedicated/Shared server that runs 24/7 with much faster connections seeding on your behalf.

If you do have a faster connection at home and you are not seeing the speeds you are expecting there are usually some tweaks that can improve performance. But it depends greatly on the number of peers on a torrent.

Yeah, in most cases, there won't be too much you can do to significantly raise your upload speed, or at least raise it enough to satisfy you.

Seedbox is definitely the way to go. If you don't want to spend too much money, you can get weekly or just one month plans and get a huge buffer.

There is a lot of discussion and reviews over in the seed box forums. Would be the best place to start.

Seedbox's / Hosting - Torrent Invites! Get your free private torrent tracker invites !

They range from $4.95 a week (if you just need to rescue your ratios, 1 week on, 3 weeks off) to $15-$25 a month for a shared system through to fully dedicated servers from $50 - $500 a month.

If you run a wireless router, enter the config and enable "packet bursting". May be called WMM QoS, or similar.
To do the same on your wireless card (from windows only, directions specifically made to be irrelevant of version <3):
    1. windows key+ R brings up the run box
    2. type 'devmgmt.msc' without quotes and hit enter to bring up device manager
    3. Expand "network adapters" and double click your wireless adapter
    4. Click "Advanced" tab
    5. Find "throughput enhancement" , enable it
    6. Find "Ad Hoc QoS Mode", or "WMM", set to "WMM enabled"
Packet bursting only enhanced uploads, not downloads.
If you don't have wireless, there is not much you can do, but if you're on wireless and noticing upload not up to your capacity, try this. Otherwise, switch ISP!
