The ocasions that I do buy something are when it's such a brilliant work I want to support the publisher (so once or twice a year lol) or when its a game that requires purchasing for online play.

I use torrents because I feel that it enhances my well-being without harming (or at least without non-negligibly harming) anyone else. I try to do my best to purchase the software, music, etc. that I would otherwise purchase. I am a strong believer in our property rights system and its evolution into its modern incentive-focused form.

Nonetheless, there are a number of products that I find useful, but are priced too high for me to substantiate the purchase (best example: Adobe Photoshop). If these products are capable of practically infinite and nearly costless reproduction and use, then not to use them would leave me worse off at little-to-no gain to the manufacturer. In fact, the manufacturer may actually benefit from my illicit use to the extent that I like their product and become a marketing vehicle or to the extent that I appreciate their product enough to buy a legit copy or some subsequent related product.

I do find it difficult sometimes not to be hypocritical. I feel particularly bad about my continued free use of the Microsoft Office suite (I think I would purchase it if I could not download it for free). Sometimes frugality is just too difficult to resist.

the best reason would be to save money, but you can download torrents of things that are not for sale in your country like subtitled animes... Torrent is the best way to download too ^^
