Went to the cinema for the first time in a while last week and had to sneak in local bought food cause the prices they charge there would send me broke for good. Then had to sit through the worst advertisements I've seen before seeing one of the worst movies I've seen (Pandorum). They must brainwash the staff, cause they all look at you like you're a criminal. I then remembered why I prefer staying at home watching movies. The industry shoots its self in the foot constantly.

Money is an issue and also becuz I don't have time to go out to see certain movies. Torrenting is the only way to get great movies and find old movies I enjoyed while growing up. It is a vital part of my life and I love it. (one lone tear runs down right cheek)

I vote All of the above.
These are all great reasons.
A big one for me is getting stuff that can't be got elsewhere.
Also if I want to play a game or watch a movie I can do either within an hour including download time.
Sure beats going to the store if ya ask me ;).

Money is the issue for me. I save a lot on movies this way. I still try and buy the stuff I like though. Besides, a lot of times if I wanted a movie or even just to rent one, it wouldn't be in the store. So this is the best alternative.

and not to forget tv-shows that are not available everywhere.

i hear ya on the more convenient thing.....sometimes I download an album because it's easier to make it into the 1s and 0s I need to put into my computer than going ALL the way over to my wall and grabbing the disc and then ripping it...then tagging it...then....I dunno what I do next but it is easier!

Mainly because I'm broke or am just too cheap to spend money on an album for music. I usually only download old movies, unless there's a leak for a new movie that I wanna see. Games I only pirate if the publishers/devs are trying to screw you over with DLC or DRM. Also, who the hell buys photoshop, honestly, I don't even think schools buy it.

beeing a student, i dont get to buy every Game and Movie out there.
and i download tv-shows as they are aired after some years or even not aired sometimes(where i live)
