    Most of the people people use Windows which is compatible with all client but for others here is small guide of the top 5 most widely used torrent clients (Not in order) and their compatibility with different Operating System.

    BitComet

    Linux/Unix: No
    Windows: Yes
    Mac OS X: No

    Utorrent

    Linux/Unix: No
    Windows: Yes
    Mac OS X: No

    Azureus (Now known as Vuze)



    Linux/Unix: Yes
    Windows: Yes
    Mac OS X: Yes (on x86)

    Bittorrent

    Linux/Unix: No
    Windows: Yes
    Mac OS X: No

    Bittornado

    Linux/Unix: Yes
    Windows: Yes
    Mac OS X: Yes

    Note: Applications which use Wine to run under Linux and other operating systems are marked as No

    A little misleading i guess, because utorrent works fine under wine.....

    oh i posted before your edit...but i think that mentioning what works fine under wine and what dosent would be more helpful...just my two cents.....

    I never understood why people insist on running utorrent under Linux. You guys have heard of KTorrent right? It's a full blown torrent app that's as good if not better than utorrent.
