Default Which "No Ratio" Tracker to have?

    Hi,

Ive been looking at different forums etc where people have been talking about ratio free trackers... now from what ive looked there are 5 ratio free trackers

    FtN
    GFT
    iFi
    iTS
    PtN

now my question has 3 parts to it

    1. Which Ratio Free Tracker to opt for ?
    2. Which is the easiest one to get into?
    3. Which is the Hardest to get into?

Comparing PtN to FtN and GFT is like apples to oranges. They specialize in different things (PTN = movies, GFT+FtN = general/0Day). Same idea with the others. I'd recommend reading up on each of them (review section perhaps), and figuring out what makes each one unique. Perhaps that will help you decide which ones are worth pursuing.

All of these trackers are fairly difficult to get into and all of them are very good for the thing that they specialize in. FtN is probably the most desired tracker amongst people on this, which you can easily see by the sheer volume of requests for it in the request forum. It's probably one of the most difficult trackers to get into, period (except for a few ridiculous ones).

You also forgot S*N, which is a very nice general/0day site that's pretty new. Despite it's newness, it could easily become better than GFT in the near future with its pretimes and incredibly awesome request system :)

There are quite a few more ratioless trackers such as CoExist, PiN, ***, PTM, and so on. I am a member of both PtN and GFT, and they have their positives and negatives just like any other tracker.

I received PtN relatively early on in my recent torrenting career. The invites are given through application. It was certainly my first ratio-free tracker, and it has a number of fantastic packs. Because of it, I fell in love with the concept of ratioless trackers. It makes torrenting that much easier since I can just download and seed. I generally seed things for weeks - so instead of being penalized for being the last one to download, it is nice to rewarded for seeding.

The retention of torrents is pretty good since the bonus system rewards seeder (though much of what can be bought is upload credit which is useless in a ratioless tracker). The downside of it is due to the choice to have a very limited userbase (<3000) it is a tracker where it is likely you will enjoy what you find, but that you will not find what you are looking for. So as a tracker to have and find interesting packs, PtN is great, but if you are looking for a diverse movie collection or brand new shows the moment they pre, then PtN is not what you are looking for (though PtN does have a good selection of new shows and ripped seasons of shows).

0day trackers are interesting since there are a number of things that people use to guage them. If you are using merely the number of torrents, the RevTT and TL will win the category. If you are looking for pre times then the higher level SCC, ScT, and GFT are what you want. Each of these trackers have their own personalities along with pros and cons. GFT has very good pretimes, but generally less content than SCC and ScT. Generally there is overlap in the more popular things - so hit TV shows and big new movie recordings will hit all the trackers.

I love GFT since for the content that it does not have and the few seconds slower it is in pre on average - you as a user are afforded the opportunity to download what you would like, when you would like. Many people worry about pretimes not because the utilize the resource immediately after, but by having the item before anyone else, you can benefit ratio - which is why most people are bent on pretimes. GFT removes this urgency to download or set up RSS. Unlike other high level 0day trackers where downloading the file 1 hour after it pres means that you aren't going to be able to seed it back - at GFT you have the freedom to download in your own time.

One more positive aspect of GFT is that I've found they have a pretty responsive request section. So if GFT does not have what you are looking for, but you know there is a scene release, much of the time the request will be uploaded in a timely manner.

FtN is the mother of all ratioless sites. It is one of the most coveted trackers. I have not looked much into it (though I have been meaning to ask people what is so desirable about FtN and how it lives up to the hype (since apparently it does)).

I very much like the ratioless system, but I also would not want to solely have ratioless sites since ratio provides different incentives which users can benefit from as well. If you are looking for a ratioless site to start with - maybe take a look at PTM (PreToMe). I've heard pretty good things about it.

I propose you to join S*N
Wonderful community inside! I am now on its IRC all day.
When you have RatioFree tracker, its somehow no longer about the torrent, but about the people. This is what I noticed.

OP you should put the main ones into a poll to see which is best. I'd be interested to see which one comes out on top
