I am building up some crazy ratios with my seedbox (>50x on several trackers). Is there in any significant risk that this might attract the attention of tracker staff who think I might be ratio cheating? I know nothing of ratio cheating other than it is out there and u will be caught and banned if you do it. I do not know how trackers distinguish ratio cheating from aggressive cross seeding...

I have seen what appears to be some pretty draconian banning action at some trackers and I do not want to be on the receiving end of that deal...

Unless the tracker has alot of seedbox users then you're most likely to get banned if you don't try to balance out that ratio or think ahead and pm screenshots of the seedbox you're using to a sysop or admin. Or simply seed each torrent you download to 1.5 and leave it alone afterwards.

i guess you could even pay for VIP status, and not worry about anything really,at the same time you can build up your u/l and d/l ratio with your seedbox

You gotta check the rules, as some trackers does not allow over seeding. Try asking the staff members to clarify it for you.

If you're using uTorrent, there is an option for you to set so it will stop seeding after a certain ratio.

lol there is no risk, normally mods or admins pm you asking what the address of your seedbox is. only low level sites dont know whats going on when you use one.

just to add my 2 cents, ive search the forum yesterday at TL about overseeding. basically the most common answer was "there is no such things as overseeding" and i've seen an admin there say that as well.

but yeah hakeem, i know how you feel, seedboxes are so fast you just get insane ratios, i just wish trackers allow you to dispute/present proof to allow them to unban your account.

I've been using my seedbox to buffer accounts for about a month now and only ran into trouble once, at Pussytorrents.org. The admins sent me a PM asking me to come to IRC and provide a speedtest as my upload was so fast. I went to their IRC and explained my situation and sent one a shot of my seedbox webui and it was all fine.

Yeah, it is a little scary when you see some of the banning action on the trackers and the VERY limited dispute mechanisms in irc... I got my seedbox so tht I could build up my ratios in just this way on higher level trackers (where my capped home ul speed has a hard time keeping up). Now that it is working so well I do not want to lose my buffered accounts!! I think I will limit my buffering to a 50x ratio on all trackers.

I have taken copious screen shots of my seedbox and some of the transfers as I am tracking its effectiveness so I will hold onto these in case I need some proof down the road (in the event a staffer is interested in seeing any proof...).

I always add something in my profile too.

    Example:

I will be using a OVH dedi and its address is 91.121.xxx.xx
