Well its not that I dont but a matter that I cant because I have to maintain my ratio lol
Yes we all do hit and run,and its good to admit that you do because a person is probably lying if he says he seeded atleast 1:1 at TPB
I hit and run my ass off when I can, scc is great for that. =)
I misread the title of this thread as pubic hair :D.
I do hit and run on the public ones, I feel that by seeding back on public I'm using up what bandwidth I have that could be used on my private trackers.

I always try to seed if my upload is needed, that's what sharing is about.
Obviously if I'm uploading at 1kbps I won't waste my time because someone with a better upload speed is giving others the possibility to download the file at good speeds.
I find this thread very interesting. So you say you don't seed because there are no incentives? If all the people thought like you wouldn't be able to download anything. Would you like that? Sharing is the reward.
You only seed on private trackers not to get banned? It's sad that the majority of people thinks like this nowadays. When I started torrenting things were a little different. There weren't seedboxes and I still could easily max my speed. Maybe because some people get seedboxes to build huge buffers without really caring about the others. I can see that at the chopping block, users with seedboxes getting banned because they're scammers. What really matters is the mentality of the people. For me to say "I only seed because I have to maintain my ratio" is the same as saying "If I know I couldn't be caught I would certainly cheat"

Too risky imo. If I'm downloading something that was originally released via bittorrent (Legally) then sure, I'll seed back.
But if I'm doing the usual thing... uhh... no chance. Get it as fast as I can then run away. The less time I'm on the torrent = the less likely that one of the MPAA's or RIAA's bots will be on at the same time.
Anyway... that's not really an issue anymore because I haven't even looked at a private tracker in ages.
"If I know I couldn't be caught I would certainly cheat", isn't that like breaking a rule that is not enforced. So is a rule still a rule if it's not enforced? So yeah I agree it becomes an issue of mentality but it's not just that mentality, there's also the mentality of insignificance, your uploading is a mere drop in the bucket and is certainly not missed.
In private trackers it's differently, your upload feel much more significant when there's only 10,000 compared to like a million so it's not just not getting banned it's also that now you feel your decision is a bigger impact.
Well I H&R meaning I don't seed until 1:1 or 72 hours, I just leave my computer on for it to download and then I come back and check up on it, usually I see that I've left it seeding for a few hours and I'm happy with that so I just exit the program.
