Thread: What sort of files are always in demand?

Hi,
Just last night I became the proud new owner of a TL account, my first decent private tracker. Thanks to lovaboy for the invite.

Now as most of you will know allready TL has a wait time system where when you first join you cant download the new torrents til you have a decent ratio and youve upped a bit. Now Im looking to cross seed files from public trackers to get the ratio up a bit, my problem is that the files that I have access to are all already very well seeded. Can anyone give me any advice on what sort of files stay popular with more ppl looking to download them for more than 48hrs. If you want to give me specific filenames that I should be getting that would be really appreciated haha.

Oh and also is it possible to cross seed the files that I dont have access to download, I dont think it is possible but Id be happy to be told otherwise.

Typically TV shows and packs are very easy to seed . For instance I am cross-seeding 2 anime packs (Cowboy Bebop and Fullmetal Alchemist). From those two alone, I upped 6.58gb total from a 25-30kB/s upload connection.

depends on the bandwidth. usually new movies are good for about 48 hours. tv shows go sour pretty fast because there small file size. the bigger the file / pack size the longer it will stay alive. usually your best bet is packs. if you can pick them up off other trackers and seed there, your golden. just check and see what has the most seeds going within the last 24 hours. find that file on another tracker, download it than upload it to TL. rinse and repeat.

However, this all depends on your connection speed. if you cant download that fast, getting a large pack may not work, as by the time you finish it, no one will be downloading it on the other site.

When I win seedbox invites here in T-I, what I do is download the xbox 360 games and seed it. I also download and seed popular new movies, and tv shows.

to be honest what I did is a took a shortcut so I would get restrictions removed and that was I donated. I had a few extra bucks and was like well why not and that is how I managed to get to download more stuff

IIRC cross seeding on TL is fine even with wait times. You should be able to seed at least one new torrent if you have the same files and it also has to be the whole torrent, not part of it.. Only download is restricted to wait times.
So in other words, yes I think you can.

As for what to seed, any 1080, 720p movies seed back well, so do xbox games and some PC games do well too. Don't choose packs to seed back on TL as most leechers shown are actually partial seeders so won't be downloading.

As staffrodore said - i highly reccommend you to download some of PC Iso or Xbox game as soon as they appear and you will find out that seeding on TL is very easy. but remember - seeding experience on TL is nothing if you come on higher level trackers. then you cannot survive without seedbox and properly configured RSS / IRC downloader..
