Thread: TL Noob Questions !!

Well i recently got TL invite (thanks to antichrist) but the interface is kinda confusing for me .. so i have two questions:

1) Can anyone give me some guide or useful tips for maintaining good ratios as a new member of TL?



2) i have some torrents already downloaded from other trackers ... can i use it to seed in TL widout downloading them ? (i guess it is referred as cross-seeding)

Well its the same as any other tracker, there speeds are good and there is a lot of leechers so seeding shouldnt be a problem. Me personally if just starting out, hit the newer torrents 1st, try to download smaller torrents in the beginning, lets says 400megs not 10gigs. If you download big at 1st your put yourself in a whole.

You can also partly seed, meaning if the torrent is 10gigs, you might be able to select a few files so its aroung 50megs or so and skip the rest of the torrents. In the tutorial section there is some tips on how to keep a good ratio, just look there and im sure youll find some good tips.

Though I dont corss seed myself im preety sure your aloud to do it, but wait for other members to weigh in on it as well.

secondly, does TL also have Freeleech or something like that or if they dont, do they sometimes let users download some SPECIFIC torrents without worrying about their ratios?

and second question: yes. you can crosseed in that way you can make the 10 gigs upload and get the wait time down.

Sirius totally forgot about the wait times. Haven't had to wait for awhile!

Just seed big files(NOT PACKS!!Most of the leechers on packs are actually seeders, they've only grabbed a couple of files and show up as a leecher!)that still have some leechers. DO NOT download them, this will most likely break your 6GB(or 5,unsure) lifeline. Get big files such as big games and HD-movies from elsewhere and seed them on TL. In the beginning with loong waittimes, this will not give so much but after a couple of hours/days of seeding, you've past 72h restriction and then it's pretty easy to go to 24 and then it's extremely easy to go to 12 and finally 0.

But I warn you...DO NOT DOWNLOAD PACKS(unless you have the files, but then you don't download them)! Seed stuff that you have already and download big files from other trackers and seed them on TL!

Seed XVID codec movies and TV serier that just got out from the Scene.

XVID and GAMES sections are downloaded so much on TL. so in my opinion, you should focus on these sections.

I also cross seed lots of files.if u have nice private site with regard to its great pre time you can download from it and wait for being uploaded at TL and then start cross-seeding.
