Default Tracker security, has it been breached?

I recently came across this article. Does anyone have any information to clarify this situation?

Yes, there's been plenty of reports about users getting letters after downloading from TL. A site that large will almost certainly have spies in it. There's even a huge thread in TL forums with people crapping themselves after getting a letter.

And the mods answer to this? You must've have DHT turned on ROFL.

But it's not always that they're caught for filesharing on TL - often it's about just filesharing, not a specific tracker. They get a warning, change ISP and b00m the problem is gone. But there is spies there and wouldn't surprise me(or many else I think) if they're on more than TL. RevTT,IPT,SCT and some others are also pretty big and you can have the 2 first pretty easily and SCT can be bought on different sites. I don't know how it works, but as long as invites are available, they could be there.

Just don't worry too much and try to stay away from WPs,CAMs,R5s n shit if they're popular releases. Might also want to wait a couple of days downloading really popular releases on DVD/Blur-ray, if you really suffer from paranoia as much as I do:D If you're really scared, get a non-logging VPN or something.

lol.. A friend of mine's seedbox provider has now restricted access to TL's content because of security breach problems (assuming TL is now a "semi-private" tracker now). Unfortunately, yes this appears to be all true. At least I was never a member of TL. :P

Well your country certainly has other issues that makes copyright infringement a very small thing.

Most trackers have been breached with as many trades and giveaways that take place. That is why one should only give invites to people they trust and know and not to somebody who they just spoke with for 5 minutes who has a ratio proof.

One never truly knows anyone on the internet. Considering the relative ease of creating an identity for yourself and never having to prove that you are who you are, even thinking that you "know" someone is likely off-base. It's odd to think about.
