Thread: CoExist Breaks the Curse of the No-Ratio Music Tracker

There’s a tongue-in-cheek joke around the private tracker circuit that any music tracker trying to make it as a no-ratio site is doomed to failure. Certainly this holds true with last year’s disastrous iPWN fiasco, which nary a soul was surprised about. More recently, it was FaceTheMusic’s turn - while promising; it too, inexplicably dropped off the radar. Even CoExist hasn’t been exempt from the curse, and never seemed to make it out of beta. After a fresh new domain change - CoExist.biz v2 has launched a new era in music on BitTorrent - raising the bar for ratioless music trackers.

CE is a ratioless tracker dedicated to anything and everything which relates to music, music rips, videos, sheets and even applications. After switching over from Gazelle to TBDev codebase, the old CoExist has been reborn into something to behold. Instead of ratio stats, CE uses a bonus system whereby 1 karma point is awarded for each hour a torrent is seeding. While still a work in progress, Karma Bonus (points) can be used to purchase a variety of site features (including invites, multipliers, upload GBs etc). Although it’s a ratio free tracker, CE does have hit & runs: the requirement is that users must be able to seed a torrent for 72 hours within a 5 day period.
Finding an invite to CoExist — Currently, registration to CoExist is not open directly to the public - but invites can be requested through their IRC invite channel:

CE User Classes:

Listener - default user class
Fan - promoted from Listener, can post requests, view NFO files, ×1.2 cash bonus
Groupie - promoted from Fan, top 10 access, special groupie+ forum ×1.4 cash bonus
Band member - promoted from Groupie, access to user list, ×1.7 cash bonus
Lead singer - promoted from Band member, special Lead singer+ forum, ×2 cash bonus
Rock star - promoted from Lead singer, ×3 cash bonus
Celebrity - staff assigned (VIP)
Producer - staff assigned (uploader class)
Band manager - staff assigned - get all the perks of Celebrity (VIP) but they get access to some of the staff forums where things about the site are discussed and voted on.

One very important site feature that CoExist has been working hard towards is to offer virtually anonymous torrenting. First of all, there’s the option to visit CE over SSL (https browsing). All users also have the option appear anonymous when downloading or seeding torrents. Promoted members also have the option to hide their profile & stay out of Top 10 lists:

Sounds like a very interesting tracker. One could think that beause its generally harder to maintain ratio at a music tracker (at least thats my experience), ratio-free music trackers should be very popular. But thats not the case as I can see :)

not too many seeders on the torrents,mainly 1 seeder per torrent with a few exceptions.
The torrent with the most seeders is 12 seeders :S

Well it's just getting started ILRHAES. And that's why the no-ratio system is implemented; because of the low user-base count.

w00t i got in. it doesn't have a ton of music but they are making an attempt at a ratioless music tracker, which i've been wanting for years :)
i'm sure the turnout will be great, if people start uploading and seeding for long amounts of time, even though the required minimum is just 72 hours.

is it scene only tracker? is the irc-interview the only way to join it? if someone got invites, could you make a giveaway thread pls? (:
