Upload Formats Update

Notice the change in total torrents on the site?

As previously announced, formats were reduced. All Monkey's Audio (APE), Wavpack (WV), and Apple Lossless (ALAC) torrents with FLAC counterparts were deleted. No more new uploads in these formats are allowed. You are encouraged to transcode and trump these lossless torrents to FLAC.

Now for lossy formats, the following deletions were made: all Ogg Vorbis torrents other than -q8 and -q0.8, AAC torrents existing with 320 CBR AAC torrents, and 192kbps MP3 torrents co-existing with the same release in higher MP3 bitrates (V0, 320 CBR, and V2).

The result: approximately 13,500 torrents have been purged from the site.

Introducing Quality Time

Now here's your chance to help make up for the lost torrents and make this site even better! Rather than focusing on just quantity of torrents, we're focusing on the best quality rips you can make in FLAC. Now introducing the "Quality Time" Contest for your quality lossless CD cravings.

Rules

The rules are simple. The contest will end on May 17, 2009 at 23:59. All torrents uploaded before then will revert their freeleech status to normal operation.

1. Uploading a 100% scoring FLAC rip will earn you 1 point. If you are trumping an existing torrent, please report the old torrent for removal.
2. All newly uploaded 100% scoring torrents receive 6 hour freeleech.
3. Torrents that need manual adjustment (foreign logs, audio cache enabled, ID3 tags correct, etc.) will earn 1 point after manual adjustment. Please report RP these torrents to staff.
4. Due to the limitations of the manual score adjustment system, no manually adjusted rips will receive a 6-hour freeleech.
5. The contest is open to everyone including VIPs and above.



Prizes

You can check the current top scores through the front page scoreboard or the full list.

1st Place: What.cd T-shirt, VIP status (unlimited invites), custom title
2nd Place: What.cd T-shirt, custom title, 5 invites
3rd Place: What.cd T-shirt, custom title, 5 invites
4th - 10th Place: 5 invites
Note: If the winner is already VIP or above, VIP will go to the next winner who is a non-VIP+

5 random winners will be selected from the top 100 scores. They will receive a T-shirt each.

No ... it's until may 17th. Every 100% flac torrent uploaded until then gets 6h of freeleech.
