Thread: Newbie looking for tracker advice

I'm kinda new to the world of private trackers, I was using free ones like the Pirate Bay a lot before my friend gave me an invite to Super Torrents about 12 weeks ago.
Since then I have built up a ratio of over 2 (then spore came out and now its back down to 1.7), but I haven't really looked into any other private trackers.



What I really want to know is which trackers have the best reputation and what I will need to get into them?

Its strange, when I run speed reports on my internet I have a 5mb/s download but only a 120kb/s upload I assume this might be a problem when trying to get into a good private tracker as well.

P.S. I have ST (1 invite that I might be willing to trade) , STmusic (hardly used), and Demonoid (got a free code from this forum just before I registered here today)

You should try out Bitsoup.org! Been using that private tracker for about 2 years now! Great selection of just about everything and fast speeds! You shouldn't have a problem getting an account there! Just click on signup and if it says its full try back the next day or something!

Any level 2-3 are good for beginners.

Don't worry too much about your upload being slow. There are "workarounds." One, is to download a freeleech torrent (if available) and seed the hell out of it, creating what's called a buffer. With the buffer, you create a large upload, while keeping a small download, and your ratio is very large. With this buffer, you can then download a large torrent without your ratio being horribly damaged (ie. you buffer until you're at a 3.0 ratio with 3GB up, 1 GB down, you download a 1GB file, your ratio is then 2.0) Another is while you're downloading, cap your download speed at your max upload speed. This way, you can only download as fast as you can redistribute to the community.

Right. Ways to make up for having a slow upload speed.

Get a good Tracker like Torrent Damage or IPtorrents with good speeds and after you download your Torrent seed the hell out of it don't just stop at a 1.1 ratio seed to about a 5.0 ratio
