    Default Trackers & Sharing Content

**Here is a list to help with cross-seeding. Please post info on trackers that are not listed. Some of the "Not Allowed" are not worded very well. Am I not allowed to upload the .torrent or am I not allowed to upload the content? Some of them are very specific. If anyone can clarify them, please do share. (These are copied and pasted straight from the Rules or FAQs sections of their corresponding trackers.)**

    Allowed
AnimeByt.es - This doesn't prohibit you sharing the content on other sites, just the .torrent file.
Awesome-HD - This doesn't prohibit you sharing the content on other sites, just the .torrent file.
bitGAMER - You can always create another torrent, pointing to some other tracker, and upload it to the site of your choice.
BIT-HDTV - You can always create a new .torrent-file, pointing to some other tracker and upload it to the site of your choice. This is in fact encouraged.
    HDAhoy -
This doesn't prohibit you sharing the content on other sites, just the .torrent file.
    Pass The Popcorn -
Feel free to share the content contained within the torrents but always create new .torrents for each site you upload to.
    Porn Bay -
You can always create another torrent, pointing to some other tracker, and upload it to the site of your choice.
Underground Gamer - You can always create another torrent, pointing to some other tracker, and upload it to the site of your choice.
    Waffles -
This doesn't prohibit you sharing the content on other sites, just the .torrent file.

    Not Allowed
3D Torrents - Do not upload our torrents to other trackers!
BakaBT - Do not upload your private torrent files (.torrent files that you downloaded when logged in) to other trackers.
Empornium - Do not upload our torrents to other trackers.
    hey.fux0r -
Do not redistribute content marked as "exclusive" to public trackers and especially sites like PureTNA / Empornium.
    HD-Torrents -
Do not upload our torrents to public trackers!
    SceneAccess -
You may not upload the content of our torrents or the .torrent file itself to any other places outside SCC.

No private tracker will let you share the .torrent file to any other tracker (private or not).

About the content, unless it is marked as "exclusive", most private trackers won't mind if you upload it to another private tracker.

There are some that absolutely forbid you from sharing, like SCC. How would they be able to track someone who shares their content?

As far as I know you can cross seed on every tracker, but this works for scene releases cause the file names are the same and you can check it fast. About the .torrent file, you are not allowed to upload the file from a tracker to another cause the passkeys/announce interfere and the data are not sent properly and you can be accused for cheating.

By saying this "Do not upload our torrents to other trackers", trackers are referring to the .torrent file and this "This doesn't prohibit you sharing the content on other sites, just the .torrent file" means the same.

Cross seeding means the action you take from a tracker a random scene release, download it faster, and download the same release, in the same location, from other tracker. By doing that, you wont download the contend twice, but seeding the same file to multiple trackers.

To upload to tracker y the content you downloaded from tracker x, you have to create a new .torrent file with the proper announce.

So as long you don't use the same .torrent file to multiple trackers you are allowed to share the content wherever you want, especially if its not exclusive for a tracker. Some trackers are really tracking if their exclusive releases are uploaded elsewhere, so you have to ask for permission or something like that.

How does a scene tracker forbid users from sharing their content? It'll eventually end up in any other tracker anyway.

SceneAccess - You may not upload the content of our torrents or the .torrent file itself to any other places outside SCC.

They state it very clearly in their rules. There are also a few posts in their forums about the subject. I have seen their content uploaded elsewhere. What I'm concerned with is: how can they track the uploader?

I wasn't doubting your information, I read that on you initial post.

I was just wondering that it makes absolutely no sense.

Of course you have seen their releases in other trackers, they can't be the only guys with direct access to scene content.

I can see a few ways to track users who don't respect tracker's exclusivity rules:

    1. if you have the same username in both trackers (duh)
    2. if the staffers from the tracker you uploaded exclusive content to cooperate: they can delete the torrent, give away your username (if you uploaded anonymously), IP address, ban you.
    3. if you decide to do it several times to the same place under the same name: they'll see which users snatched all those torrents and will eventually exclude everyone but you.

They claim it as their own when they package up multiple files and append -SCC or -FTN to them. That's what they're referring to when they state "our torrents". As already mentioned by dfrost, you shouldn't be uploading your .torrent files anywhere; that's just ridiculous.

So, if I upload torrents not marked as -SCC, it should be ok?

Sure, if they're scene releases, go right ahead.
