    Default dropbox for torrents?

I have seend a couple of tutorials to use dropbox with torrents so you can ""remotly"" start downloading torrents using dropbox
see link Start downloading .torrent files from anywhere with uTorrent and Dropbox at Logical Tech

but Im wondering how safe is that when you use private trackers?? any suggestions??

    it's safe imo.
dropbox don't care what you host in them, and forget about robbing your passkeys and stuff.

there is a tutorial on site too, many people are using it.
    don't worry about it.

It will just be the same as downloading torrents on your pc/seedbox because you will be setting your utorrent to watch a folder for the .torrents file which syncs with dropbox.

Download to dropbox -> Syncs with PC that has utorrent -> utorrent watches the snyced folder for torrents

I wouldn't be bothered by the passkey stuff because just above the watch folder path you chose in uTorrent, you have a checkbox to tick which is named "delete loaded torrents". So, as soon as your torrent is detected and loaded by uTorrent, it's deleted from the Dropbox folder.

Of course, Dropbox must have a backup copy of the file you just put into your Dropbox folder but i don't see employees playing with passkeys and everything else.

I'm not entirely sure that this is the one A_J was referring to but hopefully it should do the job: Start torrents remotely with Dropbox

You need to read Dropbox's ToS about how THEY use YOUR data (ie; torrents with YOUR passkey) how they see fit. Box.com has much better Terms of Service than DB and Sugarsync is even better.

I read them some time back and yes some points aren't to my liking but nothing compared to the TOS of the former MobileMe iDisk. That said i use 1Password to store my passwords and they use Dropbox, that would be good if they could implement a support for Box for example.
