Have a look at your local library. Go through all the CDs that they have and see what isn't already on What.CD. Upload in every format if it isn't already up - FLAC, MP3 (320, V0, V2), AAC (320), Ogg. And definitely keep all your torrents seeding if you're new. Don't remove them from your torrent application.
It definitely takes some effort but it works for me.
EDIT:
Also ... Try to download more popular music from other trackers if possible. Just download the music that's hard to find from What.CD. That's if you're still having difficulty with your ratio.
2nd EDIT:
Freeleech! Won't help much if you have a poor internet connection though

2 others ways:
Install a browser with an automatic translation tool if you are not romanian.
Join Rutracker.
Cross seed to what.cd and seed forever.
Eventually you will find Rutracker more usefull for 80% of your stuff.
The patient but easiest way:
wait for freeleech, download around 50gb, seed forever.

I download the freeleech seeds quite fast, 5M/S, however, without uploading.
They meant wait for a site wide freeleech, I'm still seeding those from the last freeleech (about 100GB+) and my ratio is constantly slowly raising even with a poor connection.
You can also buy a good seedbox and download every new electronic release (those are usually popular) that's out. Make sure you do this with very fresh releases so you will be the first snatcher and second seeder.

The more you check into what.cd, the more that you will learn and get out of it. If you are on what.cd the MINUTE a big Staff pick gets put up, GET THEM ALL. As fast as you can. Its what everyone else is doing, except you were on the ball first.
If you are new to What.cd, i DO NOT suggest uploading CDs unless you are confident in your ability to learn the rules and rip the cd perfectly and correctly. Its a good way to get banned by making simple mistakes.
I can tell guys it's a very very hard to seed tracker even with 1Gbit seedbox.
I will try to use some of ur advices.
thnx.
Lol, do the exact oposite and upload as much as you can! It is not hard, just make sure it isn't something obnoxious like files with different types of containers/encodes (one folder with both 320 and V0 ie), a banned format (APE among others) or some compilation you made yourself. Shortly, don't upload that Dr Dre - Detox you found in a blog. Read the forums, read the FAQs and you will be good, no secrets.
A fine source of things to upload is that scene tracker that pre every shit they dump. Grab anything from 2012 and send it to What. Despite the size, new stuff need manual uploads and you will be surprised on how long anything takes to reach the site. Everything from the current year will have a handfull of auto-snatchers jumping on it right away. Don't try your usual strategy of jumping on torrents with a fast conection, you will fail. The owner from feral himself does it, you expect to compete with him for raw pipe width? Good, neither do i. So, unless you have a Gbit with an ultra fast auto-snatcher, forget it.

Problem is, and thats why i was warning him, is that a lot of people upload things that they arent entirely sure are transcodes. Transcodes are uploaded every day and it needs to stop. You get banned for it.
The only uploading you should ever do on what.cd is when you rip the cd yourself or you downloaded the flac FROM what.cd and transcode it yourself with the correct tools.
Im telling him the safe way to do it without getting in trouble or stressing himself with confusions.
Another thing you should do is search around for requests. Those were my first uploads and i got a good start off that way.
Look at music you like, and see if there is a request for anything of the sort. Buy the CD and upload what they ask for.
People don't get banned for transcodes. They get their upload privileges taken away.
