All ISP's have a 'fair use' policy now, which you'll have agreed to on sign up (or renewal), which basically allows them to cap/throttle at will with no legal recourse (and in any case, they definitely all have 'no infringement' clauses so no one torrenting is taking them to court :)) - but give Be Internet a try when you can, not cable so only ADSL2+ speeds, but you can leave it running at full speed any time of day no problem (1.8TB in the last month is still 'fair use' - and all public trackers so no 'stealth' :))

I did consider Be before, Virgin Media was just the easier option because I also subscribe to their TV and Phone service. I know that Be is amazing though because my friend has it too, I love how fast it is even though it's not Fibre!

The Fair Use Policy thing is annoying though, apparently my downloading affects other users in my area - a 4GB download takes me 10 minutes, it's not like I do it every minute of the day lol. That's why I find it unfair but the amount I download monthly is quite hefty so I guess they are kinda right.

LOL gHos, you won't go to jail man - that is unless you try torrent top secret files from NASA or something hahaha

Honestly, this sounds ridiculous. I would be so mad for my isp if they told me that generating 100gb traffic at a daytime is much. Apparently we have much differences between isp's in different countries

btw do you know if they are just worried about p2p traffic or general? MIight be that they do not like p2p as it causes heavy load. But if you go for vpn + seedbox and use sftp to download your files from the seedbox, you might be safe? Just mindstorming as really don't have experience about that crappy isps

Oh trust me, I got mad! Ahaaa, recently they throttled my speed even when it was after 9PM and when I wasn't downloading anything.
I know it can't be P2P software as the last time I've used Torrent Clients was atleast a year ago, I only use SFTP. I'm not exactly sure what they are targeting but they seem to be angry at customers downloading too much (15GB+) during one day - ridiculous don't you think :-/

I use Comcast and I have never gotten any warnings in the mail. When I was only downloading a little then I would just avoid seeding as much as I could, force encryption on utorrent, and use peerblocker. When I get a bit more into it I bounced around a couple different seedboxes, and then got my friend to rent me one that I get him and torrents he wants on. With Encrypted FTP, I highly doubt I will ever receive anything in the mail. If my ISP called me about massive downloads, I would just tell them off, cause it could be anything.
