Default General Uploading question with safety

I have been torrenting for many years but never bothered uploading. I know how and want to upload a torrent. Are there any safety concerns or safety tips I should do before hand or just create the .torrent and upload the torrent to the site? (I am using a seedbox).

In most cases, you just have to follow the specific tracker rules on uploading. The rules may differ between tackers. But creating a torrent is not dangerous, because it does not store any information about your PC, just the files.

All I could say, encrypt your connection and don't share .torrent files with other programms like DC++ a.s.o
Uploading link and rules in every site is different, but they should be found or linked while you make an upload.

Make sure you don't post the torrent until the seedbox has 100% of the data
Once the seedbox becomes the seed you can stop seeding and your real IP will never join the torrent swarm.

In general there are no concerns as long as the files you upload are proper files that are useful. Sometime's there are cases where you might need to check whether personal details have been taken off your file information.

For example lately I have been uploading ebooks to Bibliotik and have been taking the DRM off my own purchased Kindle book, but if not done correctly you can sometimes leave your account info/personal details in the meta data.

So aslong as you check your files before you upload you will be fine.

Also make sure you check the rules for each tracker as some trackers want files to be renamed in a certain way. Also make sure you don't upload a torrent file from one tracker to another as that is classed as cheating and you will be banned and most likely won't get a second chance to join again as all trackers state to check the rules.

And finally if you do have any concerns ALWAYS ask a Mod via PM or IRC, most of the time they will give you good advice.
