I think Waffles is better over What.cd , I am being a little partial because i am an audiophile. But one thing is sure, waffles has some of the most exclusive content and it is really fighter to maintain a decent ratio at waffles. Don't know much about What , so not sure how good exactly it is but i've heard that its pretty good too. Well finally it depends on your preference - If u prefer HQ audio -->waffles is ur thing and if u are comfortable with a good general tracker then u may go for What.
I don't think it is necessary to be part of both.. waffles will be just sufficient for most people and it is much easier to get in. But if you are a music enthusiast, you will find your way to what.cd :)
However, it is useful to be part of both trackers as keeping a decent ratio in waffles is significantly easier, so you can download most of your music there and use what.cd only for stuff you can't find anywhere else.

Waffles is good but what is just amazing. Extremely vast content, very active forums, gazelle based, great speeds on all torrents but its hard to keep a ratio, hard to find an invite and hard to earn an invite too. Waffles is somewhere in between. Good content, speeds, forums etc.
If you are not looking for very rare content and don't care about the organization of the site (gazelle is extremely helpful, especially on a music tracker), then waffles is fine. I also found waffles much easier to keep a good ratio and find an invite.

What.CD: A Beginner's Guide
I will say what i aways say, What had 3.5 times more torrents than Waffles last time i checked (some months ago) with more than 1kk torrents and way more userbase. I doubt you will find torrents that are on Waffles but not on What.
Need some help in portuguese?
Send me a PM
Thanks CyniC, you're a very knowledgeable member I can see us getting along well. You're exactly right about all points. Thanks for pointing those things out. I'm doing well at Waffles right now, but in the future I would like to check out what What has to offer. (intentional pun). Again, thanks for the great reply, I really appreciate it. Rep for you as well.

Good point Fractal, What.cd is absolutely enormous. I'm glad you linked the Beginner's Guide because I've been studying it for weeks now and it's very informative.
Thanks for your post.
Repped.

Seems like it has already been said, but in case you want to hear more opinions:
I am a user in both trackers and I find waffles to be useless if you are in what.cd.
- More content;
- Beautifully organized
Those two points are enough for making it the best music tracker and my favorite overall tracker :)
Well I agree with the points Kevin and others like Fractal made.
I'd take WhatCD over Waffles anytime. The search function on Waffles is awful. WhatCD has everything neatly organized and the user environment is awesome.
However, I don't want to go as far as saying that Waffles is useless. Not at all. I wouldn't want to miss either of these trackers and I'd still encourage people to get both. Why? Because WhatCD can be a nightmare to seed on, and Waffles is easy in comparison (well it used to be harder). Not that I have a bad ratio on these trackers, but I prefer downloading more common music from Waffles and saving my WhatCD account for those rare and special albums I can't find anywhere else. So I usually first check out Waffles and download from there, before I turn to WhatCD.
But WhatCD is definitely my overall favorite tracker.

As I have stated several times when this subject comes up, if you are not a hardcore music fan and like myself, just pretty much listen to mainstream artists, it is best to go with Waffles.
Like others have stated, What is much much larger then Waffles and therefore, the likelihood of What already having the content you would like to share is high.
Waffles doesn't have as much content as What, so chances are smaller that they already have the content you want to share (resulting in more upload credit), they have more freeleech and they don't seem to go down as much. Also, there is a thread on Waffles where you can have someone with an account on both Ws check to see if a torrent is on What that is not on Waffles, if it is, that user will up it on Waffles and fill the request.
Personally, I would rather be on What because it has more content, but I don't feel like playing the ratio "game" and there has only been one occasion where I couldn't find a song on Waffles that was on What and I bought it from iTunes and upped it on Waffles anyway.
BTW, to even somewhat "hint" that Waffles is useless is fairly insane. When What goes down, and it has gone down quite a bit, Waffles is a good backup. Also, Waffles is a great tracker and has a pretty good community as well.
