Thread: Android site????

Hey everyone,

Just wondering if ye could be of some assistance,bought my son and daughter tablet pc's for christmas but was unaware they dont have access to the android market...my bad checked them out first and seen the android symbol on them so thought it was cool but it was just on it because I can install android apps on them...

Anyway was just wondering if someone knows of a torrent site that does all Android apps or a site that may have an andorid category at least...

Would greatly appreciate any help

Dad you seriouslly should've gotten em phones, tablets are over rated imo. Love my android phone though!

IPT has android apps, most general trackers I think would.

You could also do some research on the tablets you got and see if their is a way to get Android Market on them. A few good Android sites are Android Tablet Forum and Android Forums & Windows Phone Discussion @ xda-developers

I second fearfulcannon - find the tablet code (make and model) and go to xda and search for a thread for your models (I assume they are generic chinese tablets...you'll need to know the processor type). I have a generic chin-tab, a Nook color, and two HTC phones, all rooted, custom rom'ed and working wonderfully. I didn't have any experience prior - people there will help you through the steps to get them functioning as they should.

Yeah, there are so many resources out there that can be of so much help, I can't say how many times my device (phone, tab) has been saved thanks to those at XDA. Just like with anything, your device is only as good as your support because a broken down device is good for nothing. Take the time to get at least acquainted with these devices and they will give you 100% more enjoyment than they would otherwise. I am planning on buying my kid the Acer Iconia a100 for Christmas, and even though she is only 9, she will have a rooted tablet that does everything it should. :)

The ones that I bought are memup slidepads 800 series...

Im kinda hoping it wasnt a wrong choice as I was hoping to set up parental settings and that...

I hope setting them up is as much fun as its supposed to be...

Ah - I see your post on xda in Q&A. It would help if you could tell them what the processor and Android version is...
you could try to grab the files off of wiki.cyanogenmod.com under gapps but I'm not sure you could get it to install without root access.

ETA: Looks like that has the same hardware as a Heropad C8 or Dropad. There should be info on those sister products on xda or androidforum.

I looked around and couldn't find any info on those tablets that you mentioned. I am assuming that you don't live in the US?
