    Private trackers are more secure.
Having a seedbox is even more secure!

Anyone who downloads or uploads to you can see your IP, so torrenting in general is not very secure.
Private trackers are more secure since the guys that send warning letters usually don't have accounts there. Seedboxes are secure because all of the connections are made to the seedbox IP and not to yours.

A Question concerning security of seedboxes?
It is true that all of the connections are made to the seedbox IP and not to yours. But, You have to pay for seedbox through some electronic money transfers. So if the seedbox provider gets taken down for copyright infringement, can't they be forced to reveal who made payment for that seedbox. Your credit card used to pay for seedbox will have your personal details. So how a seedbox is secure? Correct me, if I am wrong.

PS- just asking for clarification about seedbox security as mentioned in above two replies.

The guys that send warning letters don't usually have accounts at private trackers so they can't record the IPs of the people there.
And it's true that the seedbox keep your personal details and can be forced to reveal it, but in most cases the people that go and collect IPs aren't law enforcement but some private organization like RIAA. They don't have the legal power to do this.
I'm not saying that this is impossible for a law enforcement agency to do this, but it's pretty rare an unlikely.
It's all about what is worth the effort here. Why would they go at such trouble to take down a seedbox or a private tracker and get a few hundred IPs, when they can sit all day at piratebay and collect tens of thousands ?

Yes. This is a pretty good explanation. If there legals riding are happening there will be no Piratebay and any other public trackers.
