Default Do you really need all these trackers?

    Hey friends,

The point of this threat is to think about the number of trackers a person need to fulfill it's needs, and how to focus your efforts just to apply for those that are important to you.

When a person just join the "torrent world" it might think: "Wow, look all these trackers, I wanna be invited to all of then..." and then start to apply to EVERY tracker that exists, collecting 352 different trackers...

The next step is to wish the "top trackers" so everyone start to ask for F*N, E****, iTS, just for the pleasure of having it...

Actually, there is one truth: you just need some trackers to have a happy life . Let me explain.

If you have two good 0day trackers (IPT and TL for example) why the hell do you need SCC, PT, AO and others??? One must say "SCC has better pretimes." Ok, do you really need to download the file 2 minutes before the rest of the world?

See, actually I try to do the following: have 2 trackers of each category... 0day - SCC and TL, movies - PTP and PTN, games - BCG and BG... Of course there are exceptions, if you have waffles and what.cd, its normal to request TT or Pedro's, if you want trance or flac music or to ask for a specific country general tracker (in my case BJ-Share, since I'm brazilian), while have SCC and TL...

I'm kind sure that if I post a threat offering a tracker specialized in bocce games in Uzbekistan, someone will say that's his dream treacker...

Other point is: everyone has a life outside trackers... every one study, work, have boy/girlfriend... is there necessary to have all these tracker accounts and download 15 movies, 56 albuns, 3 fullseason series, 37 games and 155 ebooks in a week? Of course not, you can download in a week material to keep you busy for a lifetime!

Thinking like this we'll have some consequences: the users will be able to be more active in their trackers, the invites will be sent to people that really need it. Conclusion: Everyone wins!!! \o/

    So people, do you agree?

    Regards!

Sure, you only need two or three trackers to fill every torrent need you might have, but that doesn't mean people will only stick with those. And this doesn't just apply to private trackers. Just look at the rest of the world, there is excess in everything.

People always want more, they always want something bigger, better, and more flashier than what they already have, no matter what it is. In fact, the entirety of our economy runs on this principle.

If everyone was happy with what they had, there would be no reason to go out and buy something else. Why would you go out and spend $200 on a coach wallet when something from Walmart for a tenth of the price works exactly the same?

But that's not the way it is, now is it?

This tendency of human beings as a whole to always want more, no matter what they have, applies to torrents as well. You could say even more so since there is nothing required in exchange other than a simple post asking for it.

Do I agree with the way the world works? No. Would I change it? Not on your life.

But that's exactly what T-I is about: not being selfish; free giving invites; think on the others...

While in theory I agree, if I subscribe to your reasoning then there would only be 2 of each category of trackers, 2 0day, 2 movie and 2 games trackers etc.

I use 3 trackers for TV because they have different content, and trackers for elearning/business/ 0day, movie, games, magazines/books, music, 2 for their forums and fun factor and a couple because I signed up to see them which usually means I'm committing to using the tracker oh and a couple of special trackers for their "special" content :)

so all in all I have and use several trackers. I could stop using some of the accounts but find it hard to do so, but now if I sign up for a tracker it's because a need is not being met.

We are selfish we are greedy - I agree.... But there is another reason which bounds us to become like this....

Part of this is happening because of the tracker earning system .... when people offer invites they asks for proofs and u must have some really good proof for asking a better tracker.... If u dont have any good tracker(sometimes it means hard) proofs, you are not given any invites in most of the cases.....e.g. If someone shows a demonoid with 10 TB upload and ask for a CHDBits invite.... the answer will be no... but if its awesomeHD 4 TB, HDME 4TB, HDSpace 2 tB then people will give them chdbits invite without question...

And most of the trackers good trackers are invite only and never opens... not even for interviews/recruitment.... So people have no other ways so they get other trackers to achieve his dream tracker.... (e.g. think about HDBits)

furthermore... sometimes u need special tracker for special content....like deli.sh tracker... FramestorHD... asiatorrents for chinese/japanese movies etc etc many more... U cant count them cause people dont collects them i think.... People wants those trackers cause they need it....

Agree with you and with RedMamba too. Agree with some of Murgi's post too.

To not make long post I'll Abbreviate my speak. Some one is my friend who involved in torrent world and he was member in all tracker (yes all trackers secret or not). after few years he let his accounts die and banned for inactivity and didn't even bother to get them back. So he told me an advice .... don't get f**king involved to all these tracker just get what you want and done ... I was already and finally started to think about his advice (and yours in this thread). I found my self using few trackers and have many. For example:

Games: BG & SCC & Zamunda
Movies: IPT, TL, TorrentDay, CHD, HDChina, Zamunda, HD-Torrents, Arabfilms, Arabits, ArabLeakers and HD-Space.
    Music: Rutracker
elearning: BS, Elbitz, GFXNews, CGPeers andTheGeeks
    Apps: BRKS
    TV: TVT, BTN

and I'm a member in a lot of other and believe me I'm very active on all of them but seriously this getting worse I don't find time for any thing. So, finally I decided to have what I need and what I will use only. Some trackers I'm member of I don't need like SCC, HDCorea, GFT, PTP and many others. But I only need one more, it is HDBits. Then I'll not join to any more trackers. Few who got enough and doesn't signup in all these trackers. Most of people wont know that except after some time joining on all those trackers.

Two trackers in each category, as mentioned above, is usually enough. In fact, not even in every category, because there are things I have absolutely no interest in or need for. There are what, 1200, 1300 trackers listed on BTRACS? If it were 120 or 130, that would be more than enough, with more content and higher speeds.

Even with 2 trackers in each categories, I dont get enough time.

Its true, everyone wants to collect trackers when he is new to the private world but then slowly understands that it is a waste of time.
A few trackers along with some "Good" General Trackers are enough.
