I agree to your reasoning Capivara.Who sais that they use all their trackers is a big fat liar.
Sure you log on so you wont get disabled but that's about it.The thing is that once you get into bittorrenting and you get your first tracker .. you then want the next ... and you lie to yourself that you really want the tracker and your life depends on it, you actually just replace the thrills of real life with the interwebz.

I think most of us when we beging invited to one or two trackers... will say I need more and keeps reading allot of reviews and finding new things and sometime I saw that members giving reviews for some trackers that give the reader that it is the best and when the reader got it will found something else.
I totaly agree with tata01 I think TI's member keeps improving him self in allot of trackers to give allot of helps here in Torrent-invites.
Finally,in my opinion getting the quantity of trackers depends on what are in ur mind.

To be honest, I used to have a lot of trackers even before I joined here. You can imagine how that number went up once I got a hold of some invites. While I still heavily use the ones I got while being here, I eventually started cleaning up letting some of the older ones expire. Right now I have about 10 trackers I use. 7 are for every week use while the other 3 are for special/emergency/hard to find, etc. While no one needs a hundred different trackers there is value in having a variety of trackers

For example, I may find something I'm looking for on 3 trackers but only 1 tracker has it with a decent amount of seeders and in the format I'm looking for (1080p vs 480p)

No one needs a lot of trackers but everyone needs enough trackers

With trackers getting closed left and right you always want to have a backup or two. That doesn't make you a collector IMO.

Do I use i.e. TL, RevTT or PTM as often as IPT, no, but I put in the effort to built a ratio to be prepared and regularly check out the bonus and freeleech content.

If there's an open signup I will take a look if that tracker has something to offer for me. If not, I'll let it die. That's not collecting, that's feeling-out the marked.

For me I have been trying out a few here and there and keep a sticky note on my desktop with my user names to help remind me. I have been searching for the right trackers for my favorite categories, music, tv, and movies. Got the first two covered still trying to find that dream tracker for movies though. I don't like ratioless places but I will use them. I pride my self in seeding and watching my ratio go up.

Being a audiobook downloader 99% of the time, I only need one or two trackers. I used to only use open trackers so being in a member of a private tracker is quite stressfull to me at the moment. I realy can't see myself becoming a member of more than the one I've got.

The private trackers seem to have a lot of stuff I couldn't find someplace else (especially BG and UG aka the gametrackers) so I need the few ones I apply for right now I think. In the future if I can get around to this seedboxstuff it may be different and I may turn out a monster.

Also trackers will have different things showing up in the pages by just browsing through. Having more than one ups the chance of finding something fun you may have not ever searched for in the first place.

I think it all comes down to being a "good" member in any tracker, and being able to return the favour down the line - offer invites to others that may need them.

In any case, it's impossible to know or decide who needs an invite most and give it to them. Other times even though someone might be a member in more than 2 trackers that specialize in a certain category, i.e. e-learning, there might be many occasions that for example a book can only be found in only one out of 3 trackers. This goes especially for non-group releases.
