Thread: how much paper have you spent on torrents?

so i'm relatively new to this whole private tracker thang but i've noticed a lot of people are using seedboxes, and in order to increase my seed ratio and get an invite i've personally donated papes to one of my trackers.

i'm a psychology researcher and i'm personally aiming for a bitme account cos i want access to really obscure academic textbooks. normally i'd buy the buggers cos i'd take tangible books over pdfs any day of the week but i have no space in my room for them! so far i've spent $20, but i figure it's an investment rather than waste/



this has got me wondering, how much money have you all actually spent on torrents? and what are YOUR reasons?
access to bigger and better private trackers?
porn subscription bills absolutely killing you?
cos of some noble ideology about sharing information?
or maybe it's simply to get some street... erm, i mean, l33t cred?

I am also a medical image processing resraecher and I have spent none on my torrents, I also have no seedbox.

If you wanna to get better priviate trackers , donoted papers is a way. There are also other ways. Now you are a 10% member, you can ask invites in 10% forum, use the account and get a good ratio, then you give away invites to T-I, you will promoted to 33% and get more good tracker invites.Then 55%... T-I is a good place that invites must be given freely with nothing demanded in return. If you contributed more to T-I, good priviate trackers will be got more easily!Good luck!

Nada, I haven't spent a dime on torrents. My main purpose on using torrents is to get stuff for free. and so far that's worked out me in the last couple of years.

I have been on torrents for awhile now and havent spent anything on them. Although I'm not against spending on them just no loot for it really. People who spend money on the sites themselves deserve a pat on the back, it is people like you that keep the sites up and running.

If you include my internet 100 to 140$. I have the best home connection i can get, a server with a Tb hdd and i donate to a few trackers. i don't have tv so i figure I'm still doing ok get all my TV from trackers (no commercials). i could cancel my sever since my buffers are more than fine. i could dl for years and not have to worrie.

$15 for a seedbox and internet (obviously ;)
occasionally have to get another hdd but that's a yearly thing if not less

Money is not the only thing in getting a rewarding experience in torrenting. Many fellow members here spent countless hours educating, sharing experience and of course managing / controling this place. It is the same in most high level trackers, most of them have a group of dedicated ppl running it.

Oh back to your questions, i spent abt 60 monthy on seedbox... I am quite new to torrent but the 2 weeks i spent on reading, understanding, surfing the forum here, i probably earn 10x of what i spent monetarily.. So if u conclude that then 600:D

Just donation wouldnt bring one far... So it is a lot more
