I am studying Bio, so most of my text books will be in that category.

I would recommend myanonymous. It's easy to get into and easy to seed. It's essentially a dedicated ebook tracker although it has other stuff. Bitspyder and bitme (i hear) are better but harder to get into and harder to seed.
I'm a fourth year ME in a state university. I've used bibliotik for awhile as an ebook tracker, but the collection their collection is not too large at the moment (I don't have any invites atm anyway). But to be honest, I've had the most luck using demonoid and isohunt (I know isohunt isn't a tracker, but it casts the widest net which is what you need when looking for textbook materials).
For ebook i would reccommend you thevault i think it is pretty good as my friends use it but i dont really knew because i dont have one:p
The most I read the most I confirm BitMe is the real deal for ebooks. I have been looking for an invite, but no luck.
Bitme is definitely considered to be the pioneer of trackers when it comes to e-learning, but it's hard to get an invite if you're just starting out, and it is fairly hard to seed as well.
Try looking for Bitspyder and Docspedia. They have a fairly decent collection of e-books as well, although not nearly as much as Bitme. As for myanonamouse, I don't think it will be much help to you as it is more focused towards audio-books and novels rather than textbooks.
Well depends on your major kinda, but for me specialized trackers basically had nothing, its just too narrow a selection to have one of the potential thousands of textbooks out there you need. However, I have managed to find several textbooks I needed and here is where I got them,
1) Specialized ebook ddl index blogs for your major (for me is pharmacy which there are several good ones)
2) Demonoid, well guess it makes sense that the tracker with the biggest selection of torrents would be the most likely to have my textbooks, but I have made some amazing discoveries here
3) Kinda archaic but works, just type the name of the book you want + download/pdf/ebook and see if you find anything, this is my last option, but I have had some luck doing this by getting a hit off some random ddl index.
And if all else fails I hit up amazon. If you sign up for their student account trial you get 6 months of 2-day air shipping for free, then the option to continue paying for it after that, but has been extremely useful for me. Nothing like waiting till the first day of class to order your books, then having them the second day of class, cheaper than your school bookstore and with free shipping.
