Default Which tracker to start from?

    Hello to all!
I'm new to private trackers, for years i've been using public trackers, so i don't have good ratio history. For some time earlier i've heard about nice music trackers with tons of rare music like what.cd and waffles.fm. To get an invite to this trackers i must have good ratios on some common-known private trackers. So, my question is: where should i start, i mean "what popular private tracker is relatively easy to get an invite and maintain good ratio?"

    Thanks

    EDIT:
So far i've found IPT. Is it good "first tracker" choice?

IPT is a good start and you're probably going to use it to the end of your torrenting life unless it gets f*** or you screw up somehow...
but if you're interested in music, you can't look pass rutracker.

IPT is probably the best tracker to start with, because it's not only easy to maintain a healthy ratio, but has also a lots of content.

If you like HD media I can recommend you Bit-HDTV as beginner tracker, because this is also one of the easiest to seed tracker.

If you are already a bit familiar or don't mind learning about transcoding, ripping and stuff like that you should try to take the interview on What.cd.
Be warned though, most people consider What.cd the hardest, to maintain a good ratio, tracker in the bittorrent world. Waffles used to be hard to, but they have a lot of sitewide freeleeches lately, hence it's probably relative easy to get an invite at the moment.

Music trackers are most of the time very hard to keep a good ratio and you should definitely know the best tricks and tips how to do so. You should also have a seedbox or an extremely fast home connection as well.

IPT and Bit-HDTV are probably the easiest to get in and easiest to seed tracker, other trackers like SceneHD and SCC are also easy to keep a good ratio, but harder to get an invite.

Your best plan, in my opinion, is to get a good ratio on IPT and BHD to get into harder easy to keep a good ratio trackers, to get into the hard to seed trackers.

There are a lot of problems with Demonoid:
    • They don't care about ratio and most people don't allow Demonoid ratioproofs in GA's
    • It's basically a public tracker
    • Because of the former point there are a lot of security risks
    • The download speed sucks, because nobody seeds
It's pretty easy to get an invite to IPT, because a lot of people give away invites only with a speedtest.

    Well, yeah.. You're right :D
But if for some reason you can't get in IPT, Demonoid is better than nothing :D

As long as you take the time to actually read the rules and FAQs of any site in order to keep an 'healthy account' , any tracker is a good starting tracker. If you're interested in music like you say though, i suggest you to read this: What.CD: A Beginner's Guide

No need to waste time registering in other trackers just for the stats proof. Besides, being invited by the staffers themselves is a big plus.

Have you ever actually used the tracker?

Not in the last few months, but I couldn't even max out my crappy home connection on some very fresh and popular torrents.

The speeds aren't only bad because people don't like to seed, it's mainly because they don't have fast 1GBits seedboxes.

Yeah, i've got an account at rutracker, but still sometimes it isn't good enough, basically about the rare content.

    Magister
I don't mind ripping CDs and stuff, and I've tried to get an interview, but what.cd staff has banned my country. No luck there.
As for Bit-HDTV, it would be tricky for me to keep nice share ratio since i've got slow uplink (512 kbps).

    Bradwarden, AnonymGuy
Demonoid also has banned my country, because it hosts in DC in my town and tries to avoid jeopardy by simply banning whole Ukraine. =D

    all
Thanks, it seems that i'll stick with IPT for now.

trust me when i say BITHDTV isn't out of your hands. they've got plenty of freeleech stuff released, frequently. you could just snatch of off them ...and even if you would need some upload boost, you can always capitalize on the bonus system. i say GO FOR IT
