    Default Seeking information

    Hello everyone.

I'm here looking for information. I recently because aware that the local ISP is sending warning letters to those individuals that they suspect are downloading copyright protected content like movies. My question is not about the legality but about where info is gathered in order to have the ISP generate the letter.

Who prompts the ISP to write the letter and how do they acquire the information. Does it come from the torrent client?

Thank you for any information you can provide.

The copyright holder/company are the people prompting your ISP to write the letter. Most cases for movies it's MPAA, music it's RIAA. What happens is once they find a torrent that has their copyright material, they will monitor the torrent collecting the IP's of anyone that downloads/seeds. I believe sometimes they hire other company's to basically spy on people, and gather the IP information.

All that information comes from your torrent client, they basically act as a peer, but collect all the IP address that they can see. So once they have the date/time, IP address, they go to you ISP, and inform them you downloaded copyrighted material.

For BitTorrents to work everybody must connect to each other to download/seed the files, so that's how they get the information.

If you have problems with this there are a few solutions you can try. One easy one is to download Peer Block or Peer Guardian. This won't completely protect you, but it's better than nothing. If you're really worried the best thing to do would be to hide behind a proxy server.

Peer block, peer guadian, etc. don't work and just slows you down, proxies slow you down as well, plus that shit will get you banned. Snatch from private trackers and if you can afford it get a seedbox.

dude really where did you get this information out of? How will your ISP know what you're downloading or uploading if you use a seedbox? It has no connection with your ISP in any way and neither will they know what files you're getting out of it and I highly doubt they care either way.

What?! I have no idea what you just said...

Anyway, your ISP could care less what you download as long as you make your monthly payment.

You ftp (file tranfer protocal ) everything from your vps (seedbox) To your home pc. But only as fast as your home isp will allow (depending on what you pay) and they have and keep records of it all ask them. Your seed box will say something like we protect your indentity, But when they get lawsuites and the law at there door you think there going to Spend thousands $ in court to protect there couple of euros from you, your nieve, there going to hand it all over then miaa has your seed box and isp records. And if you think your isp dont care about lawsuits your silly. and they'll still expect you to pay even thou you just got a huge fine, lawsuite what ever.

Im no IT pro, A seed box will help as well as private Trackers, But theirs no grantees. Do your research most seed boxes will say hold no responsibility for any illegal activity I.E hacking, cracking, patching or copy infringement. But those letters are for Know are mostly warning and tricks to get you to settle out of court but things change. Dont take my word for it How to not get caught by anti-piracy groups, or I've gotten a notice from my ISP or the US Copyright Group / USCG - Printable Version
While the odds are in your favor because of the vast numbers of downloads/downloaders, the only real way to be sure you don't get caught is not downloading.

SFTP/FTPES, VPN, SSH tunnel. Fuckin' magnets how do they work?
Also what the heck is the miaa? Most seedboxes are in "feds go home" countries where they wipe their ass with the bullshit American letters of communism.
