Thread: LOW Seeding demand

I am using a dediseedbox with ruTorrent v3.2

I am noticing a problem that is killing my ratios.



I can download fast (2.5-3 MB/s) but all of my seeding happens at 5-100 KB/s. Also I haven't had much demand for the files either. I am currently on ilovetorrents and bithq. I intentionally downloaded popular files to raise my ratio. However not much has been happening.

What could be the source of the issue?
-Impatience
-Crappy seedbox
-Crappy tracker
-etc

i think it's because of the crappy trackers.

get a popular tv show from a public tracker and see if that hits your limits

Thanks but I'm not allowed public trackers with my seedbox, lest I get banned.

Maybe I'll find my answer once I get a good one like Demonoid.

The advice is sound. You need to upload a popular torrent that will be in demand. Then you will find out if your slow seed speeds to date were the result of demand for your particular torrents or configuration issues with your seedbox.

Are you sure the files you are downloading actually have a lot of leechers? Make sure they aren't partial-seeders, for example a movie with more than one version included or a pack with many videos/songs/etc. That is the most common reason your seeding speed is so low, because no one is actually trying to download from you.

Indeed you want to make sure the peer to seeder ratio is as high as possible... if there are 6 billion seeds and 5 peers... well probability of them downloading off you is pretty damn low! Get a popular torrent off demonoid and it should test your upload and download. If you have good host for your seedbox though I would assume it is the tracker rather than the box itself!

Thanks, I'm still trying to get a Demonoid invite. If my UL speeds still suffer I'll have to address the seedbox provider.

It was definitely crappy trackers. Problem solved with a demonoid acct.
