For an active torrenter I have never considered myself to be much of a bufferer and tend to usually only download files i plan on using and keeping.

What percentage of your downloaded files do you guys actually keep and how much do you buffer/upload per month total?

I tend to keep about 75% of what i download and buffer around 1TB a month.

I actually watch/listen/read/use almost everything I download at least once, but only keep it if I really enjoyed it which is probably less than half. The major exception to the use at least once rule would be some of those massive pr0n packs on SCC and ScHD for instance. Those are strictly buffer material imo.

I'm relatively new to private trackers, and I've joined quite a few recently so probably 90-95% of my downlaods are for buffering now. I think it will always be pretty high though (>75%) coz with a seedbox you'll always download more than you can keep & faster than you can watch (at least for me) so I might as well put the extra bandwidth/space to good use. Besides, I love great stats so I'll always buffer as much as I can.

I only download things if I am going to use them, and for any TV shows, I tend to watch once and then delete. The exception is if I think the show will become rare eventually, like if it was cancelled or not popular. For all movies, I watch them and if my rating is 6/10 or higher then I keep it. If it's 5/10 or below, I keep only if it was really hard to get. Music I obviously keep, and since I download only songs at a time (not whole albums), I definitely listen to all that I download. For software, I delete it after I install it since it's usually very easy to get again. Games I tend to delete after installing as well, unless I think I will play it again after I beat it.

As for buffers, I don't do a per month buffer because honestly I don't download too much volume. I just use a seedbox about 1 month per year to build a nice buffer and that lasts me all year.

I download only what I want to see so I keep everything. (almost 7TB of hdds)
Movies, Music, TVShows... I keep everything, except for bluray disc, which I delete only after encoded them.
I have a seedbox so I usually seed until ratio is 2-3.0 depends on leechers.

For me it depends. Every month can be different. Although I would say, I keep about 90% of what I download, as it's usually learning support, which always might be useful.

I keep everything until I run out of space. If I can afford it, I would buy another 1TB HDD

When i download with my home connection i only download things that i really want, because my upload speed sucks, so i keep almost 100% from them.

When i use a seedbox i am trying to download as more as i can from the hot, fresh, popular torrents just to buffer my accounts and i think i keep 20-30% from them on my computer.

That's true. Usually I download something I really need with my seedbox and seed it for days. Then I just download it from the seedbox to my home PC. For these part of stuff, I'll keep seeding them for very long, possibly lifelong.

As there is some space remaining in the seedbox, I choose to grab a few newly uploaded hot torrents to buffer my account. For these part of stuff, I'll keep seeding in the seedbox for about a week and then delete them. They are of not much use to me, honestly. I just use them to build a ratio.
