As for your mentions of CCC, it's no secret tracker. Any hint of secrecy was thrown out the door a long time ago, when I started actively recruiting in invite forums. As for our content, we aren't an 0Day Scene tracker, and as such have a wealth of content that can't be found anywhere else (unless users are uploading it elsewhere). And that's something we pride ourselves in. We have a group of uploaders with incredible collections. Much of which they record themselves while attending live shows. Yeah, there's heaps of content at CCC you'll find elsewhere. But delve in to the Live Audio Stand-Up section and you'll begin to find some real gems you'll likely be unable to find anywhere else. As for invites being closed most of the time, that has nothing to do with trying to make CCC some kind of 1337 tracker. We don't want that. Never did. And never will. It's simply about being a small close knit core of users that want to keep their little corner of the net for like minded individuals. New users having to join either by staff recruitment, or the interview channel on IRC is simply about us being able to gauge who has a genuine interest in our content, and who's just mindlessly collecting up accounts.
I would like to believe very few people joined our tracker because of some kind of desire for status. If I am wrong, then our entire invite process has been nothing short of a failure. Personally, I think the odds are in our favor, with most users joining for a legitimate interest in the content we track. Although, I could be wrong. ;)
